My 18-month has had a non-stop runny nose and wet cough.   For well over a month.   He's in daycare 3 days/week, and the dr. at his 18-mo check up just said it's what happens in daycare.  She did note that she saw fluid in one ear, and if he developed a fever, she'd prescribe antibiotics.

At first, I agreed with her that this is just a product of daycare.  But it's been weeks now, and no sign of it letting up.  Since she told me about the ear fluid, i've noticed that he does pull on his ears (I used to think this was a tiredness sign, but now maybe it's a sign that they hurt/itch).

So, he sleeps a ton and eats well (homemade food, lots of veggies, no sugar - he likes anything we give him).   I picked up some garlic oil for his ears from GaiaKids, and I'm thinking of starting him on kids probiotics.   Any other suggestions?

I'd really just like to help him breathe better, and give his poor nose a little rest!

I like this one, I used it when my son was about that age and found it worked well

I love my nosefrida for clearing out DD.  She's 14mos, only had one cold at 4mos and a very light one over this past xmas and that helped her to sleep by clearing all the snots out.  Vit D is good for respiratory health, I have drops that I add to her juice, as well as vit c that we all take daily to keep our immune system going strong.
