I am always looking for new ways to entertain my little boy, I found a great website www.handsonaswegrow.com that has some great ideas for little ones. I was wondering if anyone has any other great websites or their own tips for constructive entertainment

When I'm in a pinch and can't think of what to do next we always bake muffins. He measures and mixes and we make a great wonderful mess. He adds the batter to the mini cups and then watches as they bake. Of course eating tons when done so I recommend healthy ones he can go to town on without you cringing! wink1.gif)

When I can't think of anything to do (or if we're having a really long day), we'll either go outside or make popcorn and look at old picture albums. DD is only 20mo, but still loves "chatting" about photos of people she knows and places she's been. We could do this for an hour at least.

My go to is always water play.  If the weather is fit we go outside to the water table.  If not I stand him up at the sink and fill it with water.  We talk about sink vs. float and use paperclips, corks, small toys, etc to experiment.  Sometimes I use food coloring and we talk about mixing colors.  You can add bubbles or shaving cream and practice writing letters.  My DS likes to use shaving cream in the kitchen sink and build train tracks through it.  I added glow sticks once and we had a glowing sink to play in.  It's a little messy, but it's just water.  There is something soothing about scooping, pouring and splashing and my kiddo will play for a good hour if I let him.
