My "baby" boy just had his birthday on 3/13 and I'm a wreck about it. I thought his first birthday was bad but sheesh, something about his new role as a big brother and still a baby? Complex for mama, I guess. I just thought it was really strange for me to be more struck about it this year. (Thinking about it-- i think every year, I'll say this!) Anyway, my little boy is growing and I can't really do anything about it! A baby is a baby is a baby....

What birthday age was really (surprisingly) emotional for you, mamas?

His first birthday was fine but I can feel this next one fast approaching and all of his changes I can tell its going to be rough.

2 was tough! She's gone from a crawling/cruising baby with a couple of words to this independent child who runs, climbs up and down stairs and talks my ears off. She's also going to be a big sister this year and she helps me with chores already. Add in pregnancy hormones and I've been a mess!

I wasn't very emotional when my littles had their early birthdays but felt a tug when DS turned 5. I was having a conversation with him and realized "Oh my gosh, you're FIVE. I've known you for five years....whoa...."  I cried...my baby was FIVE.

And now he's almost SIX. yeesh.

My daughter is going to be 4 and this one is hard for me. We're looking at starting 4K in the fall, she's getting so independent. The more I see her around younger children/babies too makes me realize how fast she is growing up!
