my 16 month old developed a fever last night of 103.4.  he seemed fine, a little fussy, so i gave ibuprofen & it came down to 101ish.  he felt great & slept well last night.  this morning it was still 101ish so i did not treat it.  he was very fussy & lethargic a little later so we went to the dr.  it was 104 there.  she thinks its a virus, BUT he did get his chicken pox & mmr vaccine 1 week ago....his temp has gone down to 101 & he's been sleeping at my boob all morning.  it's so sad to see him feel bad!  i'm just hoping to hear some "been there, done that" advice/reassurance.

I think it probably is a virus. Keep an eye on the fever and bring it down if it really spikes up again but unfortunately he just has to get through it. My 2 year old has had a few of these bugs (and also others involving vomiting) and after the first instance I have just stayed home with her and waited it out. I hope the little guy feels better soon. It's so hard to see them struggle greensad.gif

thanks.  he's usually bouncing off the furniture, so to see him like this is hard.

Personally I'd report it to VAERS as a potential vaccine reaction. You don't know for certain it's a virus, and it's close enough to the recent vax that it could be a reaction,
