Adenoid surgery on 13 month old

So my baby just turned one year last month. He's always been a trouble sleeper, sleep apnea since birth. Now just recently we had his neck xray and the doc found the prominence of adenoids and recommending surgery. He cant really swallow if we try giving him other than puréed foods. Now i am little concerned performing surgery on this young child. I am also concerned about his immunity after removing adenoids after all they help fight infections. But he's struggling every time during sleep with his breathing issue and dont sleep at all since hes born. Is the surgery worth? Is ur child able to sleep well with no sleep apnea after surgery?

Our son was a little older (21 months) when he had his adenoids removed. It was a very quick outpatient surgery and his recovery and healing were easier than oral surgery my three year old had to fix his front teeth.

It helped his sleep somewhat, but he never had apnea. Now, a year later, his tonsils are enlarged too. I really don't want to put him through more surgery for several reasons, so I don't know what we're going to do.

Is there any way to address the cause of the enlarged adenoids or to heal them rather than removing them? That would have been my preference but we didn't have a choice back then.

My son had his tonsills and adnoids out and he recovered well. It did help with the sleep and snoring. If your son isnt eating solids b/c of it i would do the surgery.
