potty mouth

My son is going to be 3. I cannot have a civil conversation with his mom and her boyfriend uses the f word like it's standard use among other words. We do not allow that language in our home. My kids had no idea about bad words until this past year and now it seems to be getting worse, along with his talking back and he is now slapping his sisters... can someone help me or give advice as to how to curb this behavior?

That is definitely the problem when older one's can't control their words and actions in front of children. The behavior of a child is due to his environment. Disciplining is not easy. Children only listen but don't understand what parents are saying. The best advice I can give you is that when your child is around, only show good actions. And don't stop explaining to him that his actions is not good and the consequences it might cause. Also don't hesitate to talk with older people in your home that you have rules that they should follow for children's sake.

My love for children has seen me featured in many education and children websites, whether talking about healthy snacks, motivating students or children's fashion at Bonza Brats. I love reading books, and shopping is my way of spending time with my young family. If you would like to catch me, you can via Google+ or Twitter: @HollyEasterby
