This weekend we stopped into one of those small specialty toystores while far from home on a trip, and we saw the coolest instrument/toy. I showed terrific restraint in not buying it (it was $36 and not in my current budget at all). I have spent the rest of the weekend on the internet trying to locate it, to add it to grandma's christmas wish list for our son, and cannot find it.
I called the toystore and they gave me some info that was either wrong or I dunno -- did not help me find it, I have also checked out the wooden toy sites I know, to no avail, so:
does anyone have this item?:
it is a cylindrical wooden xylophone, made of unpainted wood (by a company in Sweden, I recall). It stands about 8 inches tall, with wooden slats of different heights/lengths for the different tones, rising from a circular base about 4 inches in diameter. It has a wooden mallet that you run around the inside of the cylinder and it makes the lovliest sounds.
Anyone know where to come by one?
Thanks for any help
