Long story short (nak), water filter out of order, no juice or goat milk, no car, 13 degrees below 0 today. Ds is 14 months and likes to have a drink, would some flat La Croix be OK? It's all I have in the fridge...plain, sodium free carbonated water...

mommy to ds 11/05, dd1 01/08, and dd2 01/10!

TBH, I'd feed a kid regular ole coke from a can before going out on a day like today :

Yah, drink! drink something. Gosh, drink tap water if you want!

Lisa, mama to Lauren, Elliot, angel Marion, and baby due in the fall.

I didn't know if there was something about carbonated water that I wasn't aware of that could be detrimental. I won't give him tap water, though, I just can't bring myself to do it. I could always boil and cool some water, I suppose, if it's better than flat La Croix....

He's a nursing maniac anyway so I'm not too worried about hydration but he does like to have something to drink from a cup too.

You could always hand express or pump some milk to a cup...

I think the worst thing about carbination would be a burpy babe. And they might not like it at all.. my dd LOVES it though (yah, she's had coke, but it's a special treat for me when we eat out, so not nearly often enough).

Artificial sweeteners are higher on my list of scary things to feed a kid
