Is this common? Dd has never sucked thumb or pacifier. In the last few weeks she has started sucking her thumb several times a day for an extended period (1/2 hour?) Sometimes it's her finger(s) but mostly her thumb.

Could this just be teething? Perhaps a reaction to the chaos around our house as we are selling it? Or do some kids just start at 2?

I must admit my temptation is to pull it out and try to convince her not to suck it.....

Any thoughts?

Probably a combo of both teething (I know my son had his hands in his mouth 24/7 with getting molars), and the chaos.

My son's been a thumb-sucker since the womb (in the ultrasound pic he was even sucking it!), but he only sucks it, when he's tired, teething, or upset/stressed out.
