Aaah yes, I have a little peanut too. He's 14 months now and at a year he was in the 10th percentile for height and off (below) the charts for weight. He's also almost bald, doesn't walk yet and has just two teeth so people usually guess that he's about 8 monhs old. I do usually just try to say in a cheery voice, "yep, he's my peanut."

I concur with the whole chart thing. When the lady at WIC (of all places) told us that the percentile charts were based on formula fed weights - I stopped bothering. Most of the charts they use, even have an Enfimil logo stamped on 'em. Whatever. "Healthy, happy, baby" is my mantra - although it's really freakin hard to believe when I hear, "Oh, she's small for her age, isn't she?" like every single day! On the flip side though, I hear how well she talks and how smart she is all the time too!

Me too! I love tiny toddlers. So easy to hold. And yes, the clothes thing must be useful, too.

I was a HUGEly tall child and so is dd. For us, the comments about the huge scooting 17-month-old drove us bats. She didn't walk until 17.5 months.

: about that swimming class....
