I am 6 weeks pregnant, and therefore very tired. My son ( almost 13 months) is not sleeping as well as he used to. I am pretty sure he senses the pregnancy and is also working on his molars coming through.

He nurses through the night and about three or four times a night decides that he is ready to get up and see things! He sits up and starts talking about his dog or whatever else. I have to make him lay down over and over from anywhere to 30 minutes to an hour before he will surrender back to sleep.

This is driving me insane. When this happens, I feel like I am going to explode. I want to curl up the fetal position and sleep in the corner. I'll sleep in the street. I'll sleep in the yard with the dog. On the roof! In the bathtub! I don't care. Just let me sleep!!!

Does anyone have any tips on how I can maintain my sanity? How do you keep your cool when you are sleep deprived? Tips?

mom to sam arlo (5), olive loretta (3)....and twin girls Annie and Ramona Jean, born 3/10.

I lose patience when I am food and sleep deprived too. That sounds really tough--especially the nighttime chats. It sounds like you need help. I don't think we humans were meant to raise children alone--or even with just one other adult around. If you don't have folks who can do it for you, I hope you'll pay for it you can at all. It sounds like it would be worth a lot, and it is not something you need forever.

Lots of good wishes to you.

I have no advice. I've resorted to screaming at my husband and shoving him and my nearly 2 yo out of the bedroom...I'm horrible. I'm 15 weeks pregnant and it's a dang good thing this man loves me a whole lot.

I'm sorry!! I know EXACTLY what you mean! *and wish I had advice for both of us!!*

I went though this in my first trimester. I remember there was one week where I would just be on the couch and DS would just play alone in the living room because I was so exhausted. I started getting really grouchy too and yelled at him 2 or 3 times. Twice I had to just go outside because DS would cry or something and it was driving me insane. I would get irritated with DH too for no reason.

I'm in my second trimester now and am a completely different person. I can't believe I even snapped at DS like I did. I was one crazy pregnant lady!

This is terrible to say, but I'm glad I'm not the only one! Sometimes, (like last night) DD nurses and wiggles all night long. I am such a grouch and I take it out on my husband. :

Sorry I don't have any advice but good luck.
