DD has been having a lot of trouble going to sleep at night, and I'm wondering if part of the reason is because she's not getting any exercise. It's too cold to go outside, and there's not any indoor play areas, malls, etc near here. I've been trying to get her to run around inside the house for about half an hour each day, but she's a fairly quiet child and I'm having trouble coming up with ways to get her moving. We don't have stairs that she can climb, either.

So...I need suggestions for good active indoor games that I can play with DD.

Here are my ideas:

Simon Says
Pretend you are an animal...
Kids Yoga (some great videos out there!)
Dance
Freeze tag
Trike in the house
Music with actions (head, shoulders, knees and toes)

Good luck!!!!

What about setting up an obstacle course? Use couch cushions, pillows, chairs, and blankets. You could lay a jump robe on the floor for her to "balance" on. We have some tunnels the kids like to crawl through and a Wheely Bee that gets quite a bit of use.

Nothing gets my kids moving faster than popping in a fun CD (you can't help but jump around when Rusted Root is playing ). I've been wanting to get a small trampoline to help burn off the excess energy on cold or rainy days.

Good luck!

My 28-month-old loves this hopscotch board: http://www.amazon.com/Alex-Foam-Hops...1924818&sr=8-1

Also, we dance a lot. And she has a Rody Ride-On that she can bounce on.
