Hi all,

My 2.5 yo DS ordinarily naps like a champ at daycare and often skips his naps on the weekends, when he's with us. We were told not to worry about it, that he naps most of the time so it's okay. But now he has twice skipped his nap at daycare. A normal nap for him is 1-2 hours long. Yesterday he skipped his nap at school and I wouldn't have been able to tell - he was fine, happy, no tantrums, etc. I thought this was waaaay too young to be dropping the nap - but am I wrong?

Yes, both of mine were done napping by 27 months. We were able to move bedtime up by about an hour.

Momma to 8 y.o. DS and 5 y.o. DD. Married to a Maker!

My dd was totally done napping by 2.5 and my 2.5 year old ds naps sporadically. Like the previous poster said, bedtime moved up when they dropped naps. They were great all day but done by 7pm.

DD naps were only about a hour long each day but she always slept 14-15 hour night. I wasn't suprised when she stopped napping shortly after 2yo.

Now DS is almost 2yo and he still naps about 3 hours a day (and if he "skips" it, look out, we're all miserable by supper time). He only sleeps about 12-13 hours a night so I expect him to continue napping for a while yet.
