My 18 month old son has an underbite and recently (as he gets more teeth), it is causing a lot of pain for me while nursing. I have made a dental appointment for him next month, but from what I have read, usually underbites are not fixed until later because they often correct themselves.
I really don't want to wean him, but I feel like his nursing is already decreasing because I can barely stand the pain anymore. He bit me in his sleep by accident the other day and one of my nipples is VERY sore from this too. I know a lot of people wouldn't worry about it since he is 18 months old, but we are almost vegan, and I think it is very important for him nutritionally to have breastmilk until he is at least 2 or 3.
Has anyone experienced this problem or have any idea what I might do?
