My son came home from Ethiopia at four years old and was breastfed up until the day of his relinquishment.
I did not think it would be possible, but i was able to breastfeed him for a year (just shy of his fifth birthday!)
Anyone else practice extended adoptive breastfeeding? I'd love to meet more moms who have!

Secondly, thanks so much for sharing your story. I'm not sure you'll find anyone else in your exact situation (most adoptive breastfeeders tend to have younger infants, IME, who had not been recently nursed) but it's great you're getting the information out there. It must have made things so much easier on your entire family to have that in your aresnal.
