My littlest is really starting to talk a lot. She's started to try to tell me about her day, and is really into tattling on her siblings ("Justin hurt me" usually, which often just means he touched her.) We've also started to have great conversations about nursing, one of which I just have to share.
Yesterday, she was carrying around her Cabbage Patch Kid and loving on her. After a while she brought her to me and said "Doreen heavy!" I said "Oh, is she too heavy for you? Do you want to put her down for a nap?" She thought about this for a while, then said very earnestly. "No. I nursie first!" And promptly pulled her dress up to her shoulders, plopped down on the floor, and put Doreen to breast (only through her onesie, so I don't think Doreen was able to transfer much milk )
This is the first time she's shown an interest in nursing her dolls and it was so cute! I could she was thinking that before a nap you have a nurse, so her Doreen better get to nurse before she put her down!

That is so adoreable! My (almost) 24 month old dd loves to cradle her baby and give her "nay-nay" too -- or hand her to ME to nurse.

Isn't that the sweetest!!! My dd does that with her dolls and stuffed animals. Sometimes she'll bring them to me for "nursies"

I love it when little children imitate parenting behaviors!!!

Now, have any of you ever "nursed" a school bus or a truck? I have

Ruth, single mommy to Leah, 19, Hannah, 18, and Jack, 12

OMG! Too funny!
Oh man.....the things I've nursed.....feels strange to be 'nursing' stuffed animals; dolls aren't bad cuz they're supposed to be human, but sitting to nurse a Tigger is a bit off...lol!

Of course you MUST 'really' do it, none of this nursing thru shirts or bras now :LOL

My DD loves to have me nurse her babies. She clearly recognizes that babies are to be nursed but she seems to also recognize that it's something mommies do and I don't think she thinks of herself as a mommy even to her babies. If I even suggest that she give her baby nah-nahs instead she laughs at me like I'm being silly.
