Hi Mamas! I tried this in the ither BF section, but didn't get much help, thought I would try here too
I am due in 4 weeks, and really looking for a suggestion to help stop/curb hair thinning while bf. With my dd She ATE ALL the time & lost tons of weight right away ( i realize that I sould consider myself luck, but it was nearly unhealthy 5' 8" & got to 120lb by 6wks pp) So, I don't kow if I lost so much hair because of this, or just because of the normal hormonal reasons....
Any Thoughta or suggetions / help would be really appreciated!

I think it's normal to lose hair after baby is born. I'm sure someone could explain it better, but from what I understand, pregnancy hormones cause your hair to grow thicker. After you're not pregnant anymore, the decrease in hormones causes you to lose some hair. I think by the time dd was four months I was finally not losing tons of hair every day in the shower.

If your hair loss was really excessive, it maybe could be due to losing too much weight. I'm not sure about that, though.

I am surprised I am not bald yet! I lost alot the first time but this time seems worse. I was reading up on it and it seems to subside around 6 months so 1 more month to go for me. It is due to hormones so not alot you can do about it I believe. I started using a fortifying shampoo and conditioner and it did help a little. I don't wash my hair every single day and sometimes I let it air dry to not do so much heat damage. But if I skip a day and wash the next it seems I have the same amount of hair loss. You lose quadruple the amount of hair you normally lose after pregnancy.
