Sorry, This is kind of a silly question, but I have always wondered.

Now that DD is old enough (3 years) to have conversations, I ask her about my breastmilk. Actually I have been asking her for a while now (since 2 years). I always ask her what it tastes like.

Usually she says ice cream or strawberries. I have had some "need chocolate now" days and she has said that the milk tastes like chocolate.

For the last couple of days I have been sick. She has said that my milk tastes like "balloons". Go figure

I am also tandeming with my 6 mos. ds, but he can't tell me what it taste like.

Have any of you ever had this conversation? What does *your* milk taste like?

dd is 3.5, she says it tastes "sweet adn good". dh says it tastes like milk and honey, at least in the begginging, he says the taste has changed as she has gotten older, etc. he kept trying to get me to taste it and that just seemed strange to me, not sure why b/c i don't think of others tasting it as strange, so, go ahead and taste it... let us know what it tastes like :-)

DD used to sometimes compare it to ice cream.

Very interesting. I always knew it was sweet, but I always wonder what ds thinks.

"ice cream"

it doesn't taste anything like ice cream to me, but maybe to her that's just her word for Something Sweet And Nice (?)..

In the interest of knowing what DS was getting, I tasted it. Ugg. It tastes like milk . I hate milk. I thought maybe I hated milk because it was bad for me. But no, I just hate milk in general.

Luckily my DSs like it just fine!

My oldest dd used to tell me it tasted like apple juice. My younger dd says ice-cream! My ds is too young to give me a clear answer.

I guess my milk isn't as sweet as all of yours! My dd says it tasts like milk. (as in, human breastmilk.) I pressed a bit more and she said, "Kind of like soy milk a little."

I've never asked! I've tasted it myself and it tastes to me like a melted vanilla milkshake.

DS calls nursing/bmilk "num nums" as in "yum yum!" I asked him once if there was milk in there and he looked at me like I'm crazy and said, "No! num nums." Now sometimes before nursing he says, "Hmm... what's in there? Apple juice? Tea?" etc. and laughs hysterically. It's his new joke/game. He's 26 months, btw.

I tasted my milk last night and it wasn't half as sweet as it used to be. It tasted a little salty to me. DP says it's all the chinese food we've been eating.

I tasyed it and thought melted vanilla shake too. Dd says it tastes like milk, but she also told me the other day that it's better than Smarties. That's the ultimate compliment coming from her!

I dont have a toddler to tell me what it tastes like, but I have tasted it myself.. although a bit strange (not sure why!) its tastes really sweet.... Which is interesting to me... do you think baby humans need more sugary carbs than baby cows do? I dont eat that much sugar myself... I really watch it... so I thought it was interesting that it tasted soooo sweet!

My milk turned salty months ago. It isn't sweet any more... but that doesn't stop my 2.5 year old from enjoying it.

For the longest time my dd would tell me that it tastes like "green beans and mashed potatoes and strawberry pie and chocolate pie..."

Sometimes she tells me it tastes like pizza

Guess I really AM "mom's all-night diner!"

Now that she's a smart-alec 3yo, she just tells me it tastes like "jug juice." I'm interested to see if she thinks it changes when teh new baby gets here...
