I got pregnant when my twins were 6 months old.

One twin weaned when my milk dried up at 5 months - he was 11 months old. my other twin did't wean and he nursed to 4 years, 1 month & 1 week (but who was counting hahaha)
his brother weaned about a month or so later and he was almost 3

I'm Andrea - I have three boys - 12 year old twins & an 11 year old

ds 14.5 months ("Don't offer- Don't refuse method" started at 12 months.
I thought it would take longer than that to wean him, now I think I would have waited longer.

dd 11.5 months and ....
She co-sleeps, is high need and take little solids. so I think it will be while.

Great thread!

What does "EP'ed" mean?

DD - 14 months (this was 15 years ago and my goal was 12 months)

DS #1 - 32 months (this was about a month ago and he still wants to nurse but can't seem to figure our how to do it without his teeth or making my nipples white so Mommy tells him, "no."

DS #2 - Currently 10 weeks and (guess what?) still nursing!

Jenny, reading & writing mama of dd(18), ds(6), and ds(3)

DD self weaned veeerrrrry slowly @ around 31mos. One day, I realized it had been over a week since we nursed. A few weeks later, she asked to nurse, and I said, "don't you remember, we don't do that any more! Would you like to cuddle?"

She shrugged, and responded, "no, I'm too busy!" and went to play. And that was the end of that!

I laugh and laugh when I think of A) all the people who told me that if I kept nursing her like that, she'd never wean, and B) all the stuff out there about how hard it is to wean a child or ways to wean a child. Duh! Maybe I'm just lazy, but it sure seemed easier to let her wean herself! Heehee.
