Just would like some reassurance...
Do other people's 15 month olds barely eat food and rely on mainly BM for nutrition? My DD barely ate until she was 2 but had lactose sensitivities and other issues. Now my DS is seeming very similar and I'm not concerned at all, but sometimes I just wish he'd eat a bit. He mainly just nibbles MAYBE a bite here and there of what we're having. All the people I know IRL, who are still nursing their >1 yr olds seem to have these kids who are great eaters..

I'm not concerned about weight or anything - DS has a great buddha belly, just looking for some similar babes!

I remember going to a LLL meeting when dd was 18 months and whining (read nearly crying) that I didn't want her to wean, but I couldn't be her primary/sole source of calories any longer. I was also over the top PMS and desperate to start Bleeding. I guess the universe was waiting for me to really be ready, because that month she started to truly eat and I finally Menstruated. It will happen when it needs to, have faith.

My DD is finally getting very interested in solids at 19 months. At 15 months, she would rarely eat more than a few bites at each "meal." Some days she probably only ate 10 calories from solids. She is still obsessed with the boob, but she now whines for solid food too. (She had a fit this morning because I wouldn't bust open a jar of pickles for her at Costco. )

mama to DD (7), DS (3.5), and another DS arriving in August!

Another one here with a ds who barely ate a few bites at 15 months (and who also has a buddha belly ).

He is now 19 months, and for the first time ever, "asked" me to open a small tin of tuna for him (after fishing it out of the shopping bag). Then ate half of it. You could have knocked me over with a feather.

He is still booby obsessed, but will eat snack sized portions 3 times a day or so. Still about half of what other toddlers (who I know IRL) seem to eat.

HTH.

My child lived on Mothers Milk and Fresh Air for 3 years. She's still alive.

My 29 month old still bf's a lot, but eats a lot now, too. At that age, she was probably 90% breastfed
