I came across a comment on a forum of sorts somewhere where a girl said that extended breastfeeding causes overbites sometimes. Anyone heard anything like this before?

Total absurdity. Then every tribal people would show an overbite. Every set of prehistoric remains would show an overbite. Then we would have EVOLVED to have that overbite.

Not only is that absurd; research has shown quite the opposite. I don't have the sources at hand (but could probably find them if you REALLLLLLY want them ), but I know breastfeeding promotes optimal jaw/facial development, both skeletally and muscularly (hmm...is that a word?)...and typically PREVENTS the need for orthodontic treatment.

That's silly.
