I can't find it on kellymom.com and I don't have Dr. Hale's book. Anyone know if it is safe to take while breastfeeding?

Thanks.

I am not sure for sure, but vallium is listed as not safe because of its sedating effect, vallium and ativan are very similar. Knowing what ativan does to an adult, I imagine even if only a small amount gets to baby that it could be very dangerous. Maybe try calling your pediatrician, or LLL. Good luck.

I checked Hale (bfing/drug guru) http://66.230.33.248/discus/messages/56/341.html

Not sure if I can quote from the site so just go see for yourself.

Again I do not know about ativan, but I can tell you that vallium has a very long half life - it stays in the system for a long time - while ativan has a very short half life.

Definitely worth while getting someone to look it up in Hale's Medications and Mother's Milk.
