Ok, short version -

We got a new comforter that we haven't gotten a chance to wash yet so it's been in our linen closet. DH's family is coming to visit and his aunt who smokes (outside) was cold last night and grabbed it from our closet. How am I going to get the smoke smell out of it? I'm having a housewarming party on Saturday and want to have it on the bed by then.

let it air out for a few hours outside and then wash it, can add vinegar to the wash as well.

I got a musty smell out of a feather blanket by washing with a lot (maybe a cup) of baking soda sprinkled into the wash.
