Does anyone know how to prevent mold from forming in toilet bowls (in a non-toxic way)? I live in a dry climate so don't normally have to deal with mold, but for some reason one of my toilet bowls has been growing it, starting about 6 months ago. Very strange & I don't know how to deal with it! It's in the water bowl part & very discusting. Thanks!

Don't know how to prevent it, but just scrub it out every few days or so with a regular toilet scrubber and some vinegar or soap. Is it staining the bowl? Maybe pour some vinegar or bleach into the tank to help flush out any mold that may be growing in the water passage between the tank and bowl?

Mine grows brown slimy mold . . . I just scrub it with vinegar, which is the same way I've always cleaned the toilet.

I'm not sure if it's because our current bathroom has a window right above the toilet?? It doesn't get direct sunlight, but that brown slimy mold is a little too similar to the stuff that grows in the bottom of the dog's outdoor water bucket. I never had mold in my old apartment that didn't have windows in the bathroom.

It is the bathroom that has a tidy window, but doesn't get any direct sunlight. Strange. It's fuzzy mold and does clean out but is gross! :P I"ll try the vinegar idea. I use Norwex toilet cleaner for cleanings (which is natural) but not as often as I should and it obviously doesn't kill it in the tank. Thanks!

LOL...I don't guess I ever look in the tank. Maybe I don't want to...
