I guess this goes here, but if I have the wrong forum, please move it and forgive my mistake.

If I plant mint around our shed will it deter mice? I don't care so much if it naturalizes into the grass since it will just get mowed, but I'm tired of the pesky mice being in our shed!

We used to always use peppermint and it always worked. I was told by a friend (who works in forestry) that it will keep away any type of rodent and squierls (sp?). Try it, it should work.

nak. oooh, it will work on squirrels too?! I am sooo going out today and buying flats of peppermint plants. the squirrels around here are evil and not afraid of chewing an opening into your house. One day a squirrel attacked a friend of mine...just jumped at his head...we teased him telling him his peanut head confused the squirrel and squirrel thought that he was a walking peanut, lol.
