I accidentally ran my sigg through the dishwasher, top rack, cascade detergent. Is it ok? Any bad effects? It seems fine to be, should I be worried about the coating?

I think they are supposed to be fine in the dishwasher, just not the freezer. Maybe the outside design would get messed up with a lot of dishwasher washing.

According to the SIGG website... dishwashing is fine but not recommended because:

--the exterior paint can be damaged (interior lining is NOT affected).
--the narrow neck means the dishwasher spray can't clean the entire bottle so it may not be really clean.

I put mine in the dishwasher on occasion to sanitize it. I've been getting strep a lot so I do that to get it cleaned better. It hasn't caused any problems.

I put ours in the dishwasher once in a while to sterilize. It can hurt the outter coating, but the inside has never been hurt by it.

I can't imagine it would hurt it, especially once. I think it's fine.

Did you see that they've shut down their online shopping due to demand? Wow, guess the plastic warnings are having an impact.

I've been on the fence about SIGG bottles, but knowing they can go in the dishwasher makes the decision easier.
