My older cordless phone is not doing well with VOIP these days. I've discovered that the new DECT phones emit horrible amounts of radiation. There is one in the UK (the Orchid) that is much safer, but they won't ship out of the country. I guess I could get a non-DECT cordless phone since they still make them. Maybe that's as good as it gets in the USA. Does anyone know of a safe cordless phone? Does one exist? I also need one that works well with VOIP. Maybe I should just go back to corded phones. But my house is old and the wiring needs to be upgraded, so reception might be bad.

Are you sure it's the phone - and not the VOIP - that's causing the reception issues? I've used VOIP for 4 years, and I know the experience can vary quite a bit depending not only on your VOIP provider but also on your ISP. For cost reasons, we downgraded our ISP plan (with less bandwidth) and the quality of the VOIP service has definitely taken a hit.

That said, we use Uniden 900 mhz with dual sets (one is a base and the other just an extenion. I don't know much but I understood the 900 mhz to be better radiation-wise. It looks like this but we have the dual version: http://www.epinions.com/reviews/pr-U...CW_Linen_Phone
