Even though I stayed within budget yesterday I still feel horribly guilty for having spent so much in the last two days I guess in my head I was hoping to stay well under my household budget... next month I think I'll trim it down more, as I have that huge car maintenance fund to restock now I guess I should get the idea of a new mattress out of my head. Don't know why I feel so guilty... as I've never done this well, usually I'm broke by this time of month! Today I'm aiming for a no spend!

I'm wondering if next month I should do the budget differently... right now I have a set amount for entertainment and hobbies, then one for household and one for misc (which this month has been stuff at the dollar store like elastics and pens, etc). I'm not sure that works though... I think I'll get rid of the misc and just have a personal expense budget and lump it all in there. But I'm not sure if I should just lump together all my "spend" money into one... so make home/garden, hobbies, entertainment all out of one pile? Some of the home/garden stuff also qualifies as hobbies, so that's the problem. I have a harder time remembering where I'm at with different amounts. Thoughts?

Plan: record everything here (did Feb & March and it made a huge difference in my spending) and use the envelope system.

Grocery weeks:
March 29 - April 4: 99.00/100
April 5 - April 11: 99.50/100
April 12 - April 18: 56.00/100
April 19 - April 25: 92.00/100
April 26 - May 2: 72.00/100

Type of spending
= budgeted spending
= not budgeted spending
= no spend

What the $ was spent on
: = $ spent on groceries
or : = $ spent on baby or cat
= $ spent on me

4/1 - on : 10.00 for next week's fruit & veggie delivery
4/2 -
4/3 - on - dealing with terrible cold
4/4 - on : 1.95
4/5 - on : 89.50 eek, grocery budget is used up for the week - must stick to menu.
4/6 -
4/7 - on - 13.50
4/8 -
4/9 -
4/10 - on HAB supplies - still haven't really made a budget for this type of thing
4/11 -
4/12 - on - gift card
4/13 -
4/14 - on : 56.00
4/15 -
4/16 - 30.00 on kitchen wares to organize kitchen

4/23 - on - 4.75 on tea & treat at cafe with mama friends
4/24 -
4/25 - 60.00 on printer ink - stupid printer that will only print if there's ink in all the colours. I needed to print out forms for DS... at least the last bunch of ink lasted us a year. And on - 6.00 for decaf coffee to make at home - no $$ cafe drinks needed.
4/26 - on : 72.00
