I had my first migraine yesterday. OMG, I am praying that that will never happen again. I don't think I have ever been in such pain. At any rate, DH took me to the urgent care and I got two shots. I am thankful that we have insurance so we wont have to pay too much. I just got out of bed. I have basically been in bed since Friday night, save for the 3 hours spent at Urgent Care. And I still don't feel 100% "right".

June 1st: :
June 2nd
June 3rd :
June 4th
June 5th : $5.78 at Taco Bell
June 6th
June 7th : $15.90 at Big Lots. I got a CD holder for work to organize the tons of games and cds we have for the kids. Not a needed item, though.
June 8th
June 9th
June 10th : 4 perfectly good dollars wasted on junk food.
June 11th
June 12th : $52 spent at a local Greek Food Festival. Expensive, yet very yummy
June 13th until we get the doctor bill :
June 14th
My Key:
= no spend day- does not count budgeted items like bills for rent, water, etc.
: = exercised for at least a half an hour

Planned spending:

groceries: 199.39/550 is my goal this month

farmer's market: $20 a week. Its in my neighborhood, I want to keep our businesses nearby, so I am doing this each and every week.
Farmers market $18/$100 for June

fun money: $25 a week. This is for lunches again in my neighborhood, ice cream store etc. When I buy from the local people, 70% of my money goes back into my town, when I buy from the big box maybe 10% does.
Fun Money 34.98/100 for the month

Key
: no spending
planned spending or fun/farmers market money
: ate what we had on hand or from grocery run
: no car day only walked or biked or public transit

1 ::
2 : : $18/100 for farmers' market
3 : produce/dairy delivery 36.28/550 $18.34/100 fun money
4 ::
5 get paid, mortgage and mc due paid bill/ fun money-3.39 + 13.25 at a yard sale so 34.98/100
6 :: : $20 for fundraising but going to a crop.
7 groceries- $64.30 = 100.58/550 for the month $6 dd's allowance
8 groceries $17.71= 118.29/550
9 farmers market and fun money

RE: Community Pools - We live in the city and our park district pool is FREE! DS is only 2 but this sounds like a great distraction strategy for me.

Also I think making a list of parks/park activities is a great idea. We have music at one park every Tuesday and at the square every Thursday. There is no reason we shouldn't be more then entertained for FREE, especially when we can take food to all these events!

: Thanks for the motivation ladies!

*****
June 1 - $80 Dinner for church crew that moved us, well worth it!
June 2 - $5.50 Annual Dues for Mom's Group
June 3 - made money by doing a 1 hour survey group - $75 CASH
June 4 - $75 Target - We just moved this week so I should have budgeted in some things we needed
June 5 - $10 Breakfast, Snacks
June 6 - Yes, a good day!
June 7 - $20 Lunch/Sitter so I could participate in a church activity
June 8 - Long day, but worth it
June 9 - There is the smile we've been looking for, even resisted Coldstone
June 10 - $5 on coffee
June 11 - $450 for new car radiator. This is actually ok as we have money set aside for car emergencies so this isn't dipping into any of our actual budget. We've never used this money before but now I am glad it's there!
June 12 - Used certificate at Costco and got meat FREE! (and purchased nothing else!)
June 13 - $17.75 Blockbuster ... DH travels for work and we cut out all the cable. I can definitely see the value in Netflix after going to Blockbuster I was SHOCKED at how much a couple movies cost!
June 14 - $16.50 Dinner Out - Laziness, pure laziness

Thankfully the 1st thing the girls want to do is go to the pool. We also have swim lessons the next 6 weeks.

We have set up park days with friends before. Either meet early on or later in the morning, pack a lunch and the kids can play. Another cheap way to get together.

I just went over on my household budget . I didn't realize that our cats were so low on their food and had to drop $46 on some more (they eat a prescription diet so it's tons of $$$!). It took me quite a few months of the challenge tracking every penny to figure out my spending/budget.

June 30th My birthday! DH already told me that he spent $30 on my gift, but I am not sure what day it was on, but I am counting that as a spend day So: : But I really hope it is the duel shower head that I wanted. And if it is, he got a bargain because the one I was drooling over was $70, and thus, way out of our price range. My fingers are crossed!

My Key:
= no spend day- does not count budgeted items like bills for rent, water, etc.
: = exercised for at least a half an hour

This week my topic has been money, so I am trying to teach my students how people earn paychecks and how they pay bills, etc. Today I sat in circle time with them with a huge pile of coins. I asked them to name some expenses that they think I need to pay with my money. I was pleasantly surprised that "toys" actually came at the end of the list! After taking my cats to the doctor, saving money to buy Christmas presents for my family and putting money back in case my car needs tires I love how kids think! I was impressed because I was expecting the first thing out of their mouths to be "toys!" I thought you all might get a kick out of that Of course they were shocked when I admitted that I don't really buy toys, and especially not Playstation games *I don't have one!*, just yarn

In other news, my DH's boss is being a UAV and is nagging on him for every single thing. And it makes me nervous because I don't want him to lose his job, but I am trying not to worry about it. It just seems like he can't please his boss and it is hard on him and I hate being in that paranoid state where you worry that he/you will be let go. You know? I am trying not to stress too much. I am praying that it all blows over and things go back to being just slightly stressful and not full on panic kind of stressful

Could it just be a dryer belt brake? If so, those are really cheap and totally easy to fix. My DH fixed ours when our belt broke. And if he can do it, anyone can

I was actually really sick on Monday still. I went to work, but kept throwing up. So I left early and drank some ginger ale and took it easy. Now I feel 100% better. Thanks for asking
