OK, I tracked all my expenses, but totally slacked off on tracking all my extra stuff- exercise and all that jazz. I also slacked on using cash envelope system the past few weeks. But holy smokes, I'm finally under budget for the month! :

In September I won't be up to my ears in canning garden stuff, so I intend to be more organized about tracking things.

August 15 : :
August 16 $15.50 eating out-$12carpet cleaner- $45 groceries- planned
August 17: :
August 18 $5 Farmers Market-planned- returned garbage disposal - got $181 gc
August 19: :
August 20:::
August 21::
August 22 $50- Yardsales- clothes for winter for family- budgeted
August 23 $38- groceries- budgeted
August 24- dh- $13- mothballs and gum?
August 25- $22.07- shipping for books for paperbackswap- for homeschool
August 26::
August 27::
August 28::
August 29 31.95 groceries- goal was $32 so wooo hoo! made it- $10.23
eating out- $18 dollars eating out- $40 windows
August 30-::
August 31- $5.75 movies- Mom's Night Out - $28.25 MRH

I am posting early in hopes I can keep this! A friend and I are supposed to go out to a movie tonight so I had to adjust my MRH order to give me some extra money. I am hoping that I can make it to her house and back w/out having to get gas as well! It will be tight! However, I as my fuel light hasn't even come on yet I think I'll be ok

I have done pretty good this month, although certainly room for improvement. Had I planned better we could at least have eliminated one eating out trip on Saturday, but I didn't. If I would have then I could have gotten gas no problem I am also missing $20 that the kids lost and even with cleaning all over the house yesterday I cannot find it. That would help as well.

However, I did stay in the budget for groceries- for the second half of the month anyway. WE are actually underbudget on our gas budget by a good amount. Actually =- I wouldn't even need gas but we decided to make an impromptu trip out of town to return a faucet and toilet seat to Lowes- that gave us $220 store credit-which we used to purchase windows- however- we ended up with $40 OOP as the gc didn't cover it all. Well, worth it though to know we will be finally finishing the laundry room.

August
1. : um, got off on the wrong foot, bought a starbucks frappacino. gas, grocery store (getting better at trying to eliminate frivolous spending here), petsmart (fish to replace some we lost).
2.
3.
4.
5.
6. took a day off work to go to water park with daughter and grandbabies but my power went out and i didn't want to leave kitty alone in the 100 degree heat! a/c came back on before it got too unbearable but timing wasn't right anymore so i just went to dd's house and visited with her there. didn't spend any money!
7.
8. necessary spends - grocery store, gas, walgreen's (bought some chocolate. isn't this a necessary spend, though? ) goodwill (crossword puzzles for dh i consider necessary cuz at least he'll do them while watching tv; also a couple of little juice glasses which are hard to find anymore), wine store (we buy the boxes which are cheaper), best buy (wireless printer for the laptop).
9.
10.
11. : i KNEW i shouldn't have gone out to lunch with my coworker. she went to bath & body works (i knew this before hand) and of course i HAD to buy something there. grrr. and then bought lunch at chickfila when i had brought a perfectly good lunch of leftovers.
12. :: okay, both necessary and unnecessary cuz i guess i could look at it both ways. tomorrow is a coworker's baby shower for her preemie who is still in the hospital. i gave $20 toward a gift for the baby and volunteered to bring the drinks for the shower which i spent about $8 on for two canisters of kroger brand powdered sweet tea.
13. had a great time at the baby shower today!!! momma was so happy and said preemie is doing well!! coming home soon!
14. our every other friday evening going out to eat date. also bought our weekly wine box and fish supplies.
15. gas, walgreen's, kroger - special double coupon day combined with all their specials and i saved almost $50 dollars! : this is the best i've done in months and months!! didn't even go to whole foods like i usually do. i love that store and it's only 10 minutes from me so it's a temptation!
16.
17.
18.
19.
20.
21.
22. proud of myself, did well on groceries this time but there's still room for improvement
23.
24.
25.
26.
27. : latte from mcd's. been doing good otherwise. oh well, i've done way better here than before i started this challenge!
28. our engagement anniversary dining out. :
29. regular budget stuff like groceries, gas, etc. didn't go overboard again, yay! but still working on bringing it down.
30.

I guess I should enter a final report.
: On Sunday, I totally spent a ton of money and sent DH out to spend money. BUT, it was for an A/C unit for DD's bedroom (half off) and a dehumidifier (about 20% off after coupon and clearance). Most of it was other stuff we needed, some of it wasn't.

Overall, I'm happy with the month. But I feel like I've really fallen off the wagon. And, with DS's arrival soon, I am just not feeling like keeping track of the money. Right now I feel like we have to get stuff ready.

Given the latest news on my pregnancy "progress," I don't think I'll be joining y'all for September.

Good luck, Gals!
