I shopped Nothing insane, nothing unneeded even, but I'm sorry it happened this month instead of next month. I won't be able to finish in the black now. but I should have a nice surplus in February unless I need to take somebody to the ER or something like that.

On the plus side, I've spent years begging dh to get rid of his beloved nonstick cookware, and big nasty flakes of Teflon came off BOTH the spaghetti pot and the skillet this past week. So they are gone, and he chucked a couple other pans while he was at it. And he luuuuurves his new $18 cast-iron skillet. I almost get jealous watching him oil it up and rub it down.

Income from all sources for January 2010: $6691
Actually spent in January 2010: $6617.23

... and we've crossed the line.

I think I may have calculated our income a tiny bit wrong, but won't know until the paychecks hit our account on 1/31. It would sure be nice to pull this month out of the toilet, but realistically, property taxes and medical bills are things that happen.

Income from all sources for January 2010: $6691
Actually spent in January 2010: $6800.76

Got a second FSA payout I wasn't expecting (it's per pay period, not per month, when you have a claim pending. Well, okay then!) Also, it turns out that our "cash back" Amex card does its cash back reward every January. So -the month is really close to balancing. Really close. Sooooooo close...

I tracked ll month long and totalled it all up tonight. We were not trying to no-spend per se, just trying to get an accurate picture of what we are spending. Well, now we know and I need to NO SPEND part of this challenge for next month for sure!!!
