Ah, senor fat foot (aka DS1) has a brand new pair of pedipeds for $9.99! I am really digging the extra pad insert to take it down a half size. I am hoping these will last till winter at least...he's already gone up like 3 sizes this year.

What have you scored recently?

$3 for a bag of clothes, which included this fierce pair of cheetah print, silky PJ pants. I've been wearing them around the house at least every other day since i got them. They are SO comfy. It's 5pm, and I'm wearing them right now. :P

My best thrift store score that I can think of wasn't too recent, but I still recall how gleeful I was to find it. A thick, soft wool J. Crew sweater in an awesome pumpkin orange. I wore the heck out of it, and when it got holey I felted it down to make longies for DS1.

Today at Value Village! I "splurged," because it was $14.99. But it is an Ann Taylor long-sleeve wrap dress that fits me perfectly, in a pretty blue pattern. I LOVE wrap dresses and can almost never find them to fit. I'll wear it all through fall and winter.

Found a mind-bendingly comfy pair of unworn-looking SAS shoes in metallic (shiny!) gray for 3.00. I love granny-style shoes, and wore my last pair of (burgundy) SAS shoes until they literally fell apart.

My recent amazing score was a brand new Medela PIS for $3.

It was obviously new, so I snagged it, but when I opened everything up whomever had donated it included the receipt as well as a note saying that she had been gifted two at her shower, and wanted another nursing mom to have one at minimal expense.

ahhhh how nice - great score!

Blessed partner to a great guy, and mama to 4 amazing kids. Unfortunate target of an irrationally angry IRL stalker.

My best score ever was an All-American canner for $29.99. It was a "splurge" but they are $300 brand new.

A couple days ago I got 4 pairs of jeans and a top for dd1 and 2 pairs of pants, a set of Osh Kosh overalls and a brand new looking Carters romper for dd2 for $15!! They're about half way set for winter clothes now. Trying another place this weekend and hoping for some more tops.

Sooo jealous of your jars! They're awesome! I have one bicentennial one with a big liberty bell on it, I never give it as a gift, I'm afraid it won't come home to me.

OT but crap! They want 9.99 for that? I have at least a 1/2 dozen in my basement! They were my dearly departed MIL's. I wonder where she got them from?

ETA: You can still easily get the replacement rubber rings if yours are looking a little nasty. Most stores with a canning section sell them.

I've seen the big ones selling in antique shops for $20-$30! They had about 50 jars sitting there all for 25 cents. I thought about getting them all and then selling them for a profit but I had walked so I just took what I could carry.

They had some rings with the jars but it's good to know they still sell them if I need some.

I don't find the deals at thrift stores (most in my area are overpriced), but I have gotten 2 formals from Ann Taylor for $4 and $10. I was in college and they were perfect for several occasions. I still wear one of them 10 years later!

DS needed a very specific type of clothes for football practice and my DH happened to find the exact things he needed (all new with tags too!) for $18 instead of the $80 that it would have cost me at a regular store.

I just recently discovered that the local Marine Thrift store has 50% off on the first Saturday for any service members and families that are a certain rank and below. So I got a nice (rather large) set of wooden blocks for my daughters for 2.00. They LOVE them. I also got several board books to add to our collection for .05 each.Im going to go up and check out their maternity section because even full price the most an item is is a dollar. DH got some cammies with tags still on them for 5.00 each, normally its almost 100.00 for each set. That really helps us out since he needs new uniforms.

I just bought a $300+ oversized Havertys ottoman for $10 off of Craigs List. It's got a few marks on it but with three boys, three cats and two dogs I'm not going to worry about them.

Nice! I'd love that.

My best, recent find was a pair of earth shoe sandals for just under $5, for myself. Last trip I made out really well on clothes for both the girls we needed including winter gloves and sunhats for both that'll last a year or two and some hanna baby tights.

Ooh, I got DD a Columbia winter coat for $5 and Lands' End snow bib to go with it for $4, both like new. Pays to go to a mild winter climate area to shop for those......I never see stuff like that here in snow country that isn't trashed.

And most of DD's dresses for school this year, in good used condition, from LE, Hanna or Gymbo, for $2 each.

She has most of what she needs for school this year - my mom treated her to a pair of Mary Janes, so all I need to get her is some tights and a pair of PE shoes!
