I saw on another episode of extreme couponing that one family sends their expired coupons to some friends in the military, as they can use them for up to 3 months after expiration at the commissary. Does anyone know if there is a way to donate expired coupons to military, assuming this is universal on all bases?
We're military and no commissary that I've ever used in the States( Army or Air Force) accepts expired coupons. I'm pretty sure that only ones outside the US do that.
HotCouponWorld.com has a forum and you ate to the military from there. It's up to 6 mos expired and it's overseas. They used to do some expireds here at commissary at the case lot sales only, but they don't now.
Puerto Rico is 'overseas' and it only costs regular postage to send and many folks will pay you shipping at least. I lived in PR for a year and it's very hard to find coupons there! They don't print them in the paper or magazines as the culture there feels like it's bad to be 'cheap' and coupons are something only poor folks use. Also no thrift stores there either. Little different!
All other places you donate to, if they happen to have an APO address you can send the FRB's there for a little less and it's no international postage
