Anyone planning to get post-holiday turkey on sale? How low should it go and what days are best to look for it? I have a deep freezer and have always gotten turkeys the day after Thanksgiving and made soup, broth, and stews from them, but I'm wondering if I can be more strategic with deals this year.
I will be looking too. I didn't find very good pre-holiday specials this year - last year one neighborhood store had free turkeys with a $100 purchase, another 19c/lb with $50 purchase. The cheapest I saw this year was $1.19/lb (with a coupon). I usually try to freeze 3 or 4 for the year (limits of my small freezer).
Rhu - mother,grandmother,daughter,sister,friend-foster,adoptive,and biological;not necessarily in that order. Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way (Jimmy Buffet)
