Hoping for fewer than the 13 Devil Dude-icons I earned for August!
6 x = No-spend
5 x = Just necessities
3 x = Conscientious spending
8 x = Minor infraction
3 x = Avoidable, unavoidable-- spending that makes an impact-- dead mice in car, speeding tickets, mini-market pizzafest
1 x = Planned, unplanned-- but a Bigtime-Budget-Buster.
28 Another day of eating out, not expensive but entirely unplanned
29 No spend
Well, I matched last month with my devil dudes, but at least I didn't go over. This month it's 13 days and 19 total devil dudes, and 20 days with 55 total smilies. Not bad when tallied up like that.
Ciao for now, ladies.

September 22: Forgotten groceries
I lost track a little bit in these final days, but I think that they were mostly no-spend. The grocery shopping went pretty well this weekend. We had another kiddie party to get a gift for (and one coming up next weekend) but we spent just $10 on each kid. And got really cute presents with that money.
The check I went to pick up was alarmingly small. I'm taking another pay cut this year, I guess. We have so many furlough days, and have had for several years, that it's difficult to keep track of what my take-home pay actually is. Sigh.
ETA: We did really well with not treating ourselves. We did not have takeout or go out at all this month.

Frugal, food growing mama to my four loves
End of the month wrap up. September was darn good. My grocery budget was solid, we got through a birthday on budget, geared up for winter biking and had only a couple of slips.
October brings another birthday and dh has some travel time. I have money set aside for both of those things. The kids have lots of school stuff going on -- music lessons and field trips and class pictures -- I am looking over the month to pinpoint any other budget wreckers, but so far, it is looking good.
Here's to the next round!

This is probably the most successful month I've had, as far as straight no spend days. 19 no spend days and 10 budgeted spending days isn't bad at all! Gonna try to keep it up for October. There is definitely some stuff I need to get, but I'm gonna try to consolidate that spending. Consolidating has really forced me to think about my purchases before I make them and I would say that 9 times out of 10, I end up deciding that I don't actually need what I thought I needed, or I decide that the purchase can wait.
