Bought a few used things for the kids.   My son needed cleats and we found a nice pair at Play it Again Sports -- $15.  My daughter has outgrown all but one pair of her pants.  We found three pairs at the Goodwill -- $16.  Also, did a quick trip to the grocery store for milk and fruit for breakfast.  Will need to do a bigger trip tomorrow.

Took my son to the library to read to therapy dogs, he loved it, we will do it again next month. Went to the grocery store to pick up produce for the first 5 days of my 15 day reboot. Returned a free redbox rental and had a code for rent one get one free. Used it, just closer to getting another free rental credit. Need to finish my homework tonight.

I made the final February grocery trip this morning.  I have been carefully tracking my food spending this month on a spreadsheet and I have spent 30% less in February than I did in January.    So excited.   We are eating fewer treats, less store bought bread, smaller portions of fruit and cheese.  And I am just buying a little less.  This is a game changer for me.  I can easily put another $1,000 away each year with this lower grocery bill which is a lifesaver.  Wish I had a garden here, I could drop our bill even more.

Started my 15 day reboot today. It's hard since I love eating junk food, but I need to start my clean eating again. I finished all my homework today except for week 3 journal, the topic hasn't even been posted yet and its due Tuesday!

Oh my, girl scout cookies are my weakness! I want to buy so many boxes of thin mints but I know I shouldn't. It's hard telling them no when they are stationed right outside the grocery store!

Key

:nod No Spend/ Budgeted Spend

shake.gif  Un-budgeted Spend

1.  :nod  Traveled to my ILs for a long weekend.  $$ for lunch & gas, all budgeted.

2.  shake.gif  Had to stop at the grocery store & pick up gluten free pasta & dessert for DS2.  Bought Starbucks coffee.

3.  :nod  Stuck at the ILs for an additional day due to snow

4.  shake.gif  Traveled home from ILs, budgeted gas & lunch, didn't budget for delivery pizza for dinner when we got home

5.  :nod

6.  :nod

7.  :nod  2 kids had well child checks today, got Five Guys for a late lunch/ early dinner, used the eating out budget.

8.  :nod

9.  :nod  Big grocery shop today at Costco.  Stayed completely in budget!! :joy

10. :nod  Pre-emptive No-Spend.  We've got no where to go, I need to catch up on laundry, so I don't foresee any $$ leaving my possession.  Didn't spend :thumb

11. :nod

12. :nod Spent the day prepping for a major snow storm, 4 loaves of bread baked, batch of crock-pot granola done, multiple loads of laundry done.  Bring on the SNOW!! :cold

13. :nod  Snowed in and prepared for it :D

14. :nod  Picked up our new dining table we had custom made for our family.  Bought fast food for a late lunch/ early dinner.

15. :nod

16. :nod  Quick grocery shop, placed a Mountain Rose Herbs order.

17. :nod

18. :nod Pre-emptive No-Spend.  We're not going anywhere today, working on making LOTS of valentines for a postponed V-day party.

19. shake.gif Even though there is money in the budget for eating out, I'm giving myself an Unbudgeted Spend day b/c the fast food I got for dinner could have easily been avoided w/ better planning.  That said, my 1yo is teething and up nursing most of the night, so I am EXHAUSTED and feel like I'm in a fog, so that planning didn't happen.  I am proud of myself for a small feat.  We had a homeschool co-op Valentine's party today.  My kids used on hand construction paper and paper punches for the valentines they handed out.  I found out last minute I needed to bring some food, so I whipped up some gluten/ egg free pumpkin bread using fresh pureed pumpkin I had in the fridge.  I also thought ahead and grabbed our stash of gluten/ egg free "oreos" for DS2 since I knew there'd be some kind of dessert I would need to replace for him.

20. :nod

Finally filed taxes today. Most likely the refund will get garnished since stbxh owes child support. If it does will file a different form to get my portion. Had a study group today, it went okay. Have a job interview tomorrow which I'm excited about.

Drove around today and gave some places my resume. A lot of the CPT positions told me to apply online, which I already did, and then they can take 3-4 weeks just to close the position before they start interviews. Filled up my tank, should be good until next week. I'm behind on some homework so I must work on that tonight.

15. :nod

Yesterday I paid $12 for my newspaper subscription. Had class all day, also had an interview, I can't work Sundays so I probably didn't get the job. :( Today I have to go turn in some papers at my school, but it's stormy out today. But today I plan to finish strong and have a No Spend day!

Finishing the month well.   Kind of been a quiet month.  Dh has been traveling for 2 weeks, so it has just been me and the kids.  He comes back tonight and will be home for 10 days before his next trip.  My big goal is to keep things running smoothly while he is doing all of these work trips.  So far, so good.

Does anyone else want to start the March thread?
