Ugh, I am spending money.   I bought a birthday present for a last minute party happening today.  This is for a 6 year old friend of ds's.  I gave my son a  $15 budget and he found some Lego's that just squeaked under the spending limit.  While there, I bought a $1 Matchbox car for my 2 year old who was delightfully un-2-year-old-like in the toy store.

I am postponing our big grocery store trip till tomorrow or maybe Sunday.  I just don't feel like it!   For someone who doesn't like to shop, it is all I do some weeks.  We will run out of milk tonight (why don't I buy 2 gallons at a time?!!?), but I think we'll just live without milk for a day.

Today I went out to my bday lunch with my son before his dad came to pick him up for the weekend. It was a good lunch. I miss my son so much already and it's only been about an hour since his dad came and got him. But with my son away this weekend. I should be able to get 2 chapters of math homework done, read 4 chapters for EMT class, do 30 pages of homework, a journal entry, and lastly online reading and quizzes... going to be a long weekend! I hope everyone is doing well

We are gearing up for baseball season.  I have 2 boys playing this year and my younger son needed cleats.  Found a new pair for $15 and my other son needed sneakers so badly.  He found a terrific pair for $20.  My kids are so good at looking for deals.  My 10 year old walked by the new shoe selection and went right to the sale aisle.  He found 3 pairs that he liked and narrowed it down to the best fitting pair.  "Look mom!  Only 20 bucks!"  Love him.

He and my dh are headed to the resale shop this morning to look for a baseball mitt.  His is too small and he is handing it down to his younger brother who is thrilled to be getting his big brother's mitt.

Dh leaves for the week again and my spending should be very low.  We have a fridge full of food and the van has enough gas for the week.

Okay, back to our normal Mon-Fri routine.  My husband found a good mitt for my son, used it was $35.  I was surprised, but my dh reminded me that they are normally $100 new.  Good grief.  This one should last him a long while and can always be passed down to a younger brother.  Baseball gives us 10 weeks of fun and activity, so I don't begrudge the money.

We can still make our savings goal for the month, but it does mean a stop to any more purchases.  If we can keep it up for a few more months, we could start looking at houses in July!

The bras I bought last week came Saturday and they are awful!  I don't know why I am such a hard fit.  I have a narrow rib cage and am nursing, so big cups.  It is a hard combination to fit.  I bought a new one last month, but returned it after the strap frayed when I hand washed it the first time.  Silly thing.

So, back go all the lovely new bras I just bought.  I have one that is very old, but fits okay and a two sports bars I wear when I exercise.  I have to double them up, because they are really stretched out.  It will just have to be enough till my last baby weans.  He is over 2 and I don't think we have long to go.

Should be a nice run of no-spends for the next few days.

duh.gif Caved got Subway for all 4 of us while out getting DD's new Rx lenses. Our eye doctor won't change the lenses on frames that we purchased from him last year for $130!  Her Rx changed (her eyes have gotten worse every single year since she got glasses).   His policy is that you have to buy new frames, which start at $100.  She likes her glasses and although we looked, she didn't find a single pair that she liked so we took her glasses to Walmart it's costing us $39 for new lenses.  So even with the Subway still cheaper..

1.  shake.gif  Went to IKEA.  A large portion of what we spent was budgeted, but we bought other things that weren't budgeted.  And we got dinner there (including dessert).

2.  shake.gif  Went to JoAnn Fabrics to pick up 2 things (that should have cost less than $10).  Spent almost $40 splat.gif

3.  :nod

4.  :nod  Pre-emptive No-Spend.  Not going anywhere, meals are planned.

I've lost track of quite a few days.  I'm picking up from this Sunday.

Today I had to renew my license, paid $33 for it and had to drive 35 miles away to do it. :irked Put $40 in gas. On the upside I was able to buy over $30 worth of stuff at Target for only $7.33 with tax! Yay! Love couponing and getting free stuff! Also had a coupon for a free meal at IHOP since it's my birthday month, so lunch was free! I have another coupon for Denny's to use on my actually bday come next Tuesday, love getting free meals!

I had some unexpected free time today when a friend took ds for the afternoon.  I did a quick trip to Target for socks and underwear for ds2.  In my past life, I would have stopped for a coffee, but I skipped it and had a nice cup of tea when I got home.

My son woke up sick, took him to the doctors, he has the stomach flu. Stopped by the farmers market and picked up a couple of things (was able to use my food stamps), also stopped by the grocery store to pick up some chicken noodle soup, crackers and Gatorade. I had to miss class today due to my son being sick. Wont get much done, hopefully can do some math homework and start on my EMT homework.

I canceled one Sunday newspaper subscription to get another one at 1/2 the cost. $6 every 8 weeks instead of $12. Great deal and I use the coupons. Paid the minimum payment on my last and only credit card $15, put $7 into my savings as well. Ate leftovers today and will need to pick up some items at the store with my WIC check. I also need to do start meal planning again.

Went out to grab some supplies for my first aid kit. Went to the grocery store to pick up a couple of things. Trying to meal plan for this week and hopefully next week as well. Will start my homework later on tonight when my son goes to sleep.

The kids have a swim meet this weekend.  These events always nickel and dime me, but we have done well so far.  I bought a heat sheet for $5 and 2 water bottles since I didn't bring enough for everyone.  We head back today and should get away with spending $0.

I will need to get back to the grocery store tonight or we won't have food to pack for school this week.  We ate everything I bought on Friday.  My kids eat so much food!

Today I had to go to the courthouse to pick up some forms to file for a court date and mediation, $6. A neighbor from down the street came over and wanted to know if some tires in our backyard was for sale. I sold 1, since it was the only good one, for $10. My parent's had a total of 7 tires from a trailer, they said I could keep the $$ if I sold them! Yay free money! Finished my school homework today as well.

Yesterday was my birthday! Yay! Well not really, my son got a really bad chest cold, I was dehydrated and I had class all day. I did go out to Denny's for breakfast, I got a free grand slam and I only had to pay for my son's jr grand slam.

Today I had to take the little monster to the Dr.'s, they were packed! I waited over an hour after my appt. time to be seen, good thing is I got medicine for him and he is doing much better. I didn't want to have to deal with making lunch, so I just dropped off his perscripton and got some fast food. Picked up his perscription and took him to daycare. I was home for about an hour before I had to go pick him up...everyone there had the stomach bug! Eek don't want him to get that again. Hopefully everything will be fine tomorrow.  But this week so far has thrown me off track.

This week has been a whole week of OOPS! lol Yesterday I overspent on my clothing budget. My son has out grown his shirts. Also got some Starbucks on my way to class.

Today I had a couponing class, the class was a bust but at least I got some coupons out of it. Had to pick up some vitamins, they had B1G1 plus I had $2 off a $10 vitamin purchase and 3ECB so paid about $6 and some change. I also went to walmart as well and I got paid $8.06 to take everything I bought home! It turned out great because I had to pay $8 for an hour and 1/2 of daycare. So nothing really out of pocket non budget wise. Also did a little grocery shopping.
