It is just me and Ds who doesn't eat much meat. I like to have it once in a while to flavor or whatever. One thing we like is chicken, but cut up organic chicken is quite expensive. So, I had a great idea! I buy a whole fresh organic chicken from my local market and I get the butcher to cut it up for me. I get packaged up..

2 thighs
2 bonesless breasts (2 packages)
2 drumsticks plus 2 wingettes
plus the chicken carcass which makes two meals of soup. (Plus I freeze half the stock for another kind of soup)

So for 12 dollars for the chicken I get enough for 6 meals, plus extra soup to freeze, which ends up at 2 dollars a meal for organic chicken That is like 3-4 weeks worth of chicken for us And since we don't eat a lot of toher meat, it has really cut the ol chicken budget!

You rock!
My next "job" is to find a good source of meat.
The problem is, I am cheap.

That's what I do, it is great. I have a great chicken chili recipe for those thighs if you want it.
