ETA: I just read some of the other posts and I'm going to assume that's what it means I found 6 listings for my deceased grandparents. I will call my Dad and tell him about it.

Thanks!

Woah. Surreal. I didn't find anything for myself but I did find $50 for Dh, from a power company at an address that he never lived at, but he thinks his mother [side note: his mother had several mental illnesses and he grew up in foster care] lived at. She must have opened an account in his name. Would he be eligible for the claim?

Jessie, couldn't hurt to try

I found that my dad is owed over $100 so I emailed him but I doubt he'll do it. Which of course is hideously painful to me, because I could really use $100 right now, we have never hurt this badly for money before. Nobody owes us anything.

thanks so much for this link, tracy!

I just found out that I have between 10-100 waiting for me.... but they want me to provide proof of my living at that address. Problem is that I lived there for just 3 months during the summer between semesters in college, in 1988! Dang! I've sent them a letter, we'll see if they care.

*crosses fingers because we could really use that $$ now*

In today's mail there was a check for my dh for $144.33 The only bummer is that they don't say what it was from! It's from WA state where he lived for years (about 15 years ago) and owned a house so it could be anything. So my curiosity goes unanswered but hey, we got money It's enough to cover the bike we picked out for dd and for some other presents I had in mind. It's almost like a free birthday

I found money owed to me from back when I was in college (just $32) and some for my sister. Actually three money owed to my sister. She is sooo disorganized since the address listed is her CURRENT ADDRESS. I suspected there are a few checks she forgot to cash along the way.

I found "over 50" for my mom; she has to apply for it to find out how much it is or what it's from, but basically it's from the sale of a house that she and her Exboyfriend bought together.

I found "under 50" for my sister, which she says isn't worth looking into.

I found 7 different ones "over 50," so at least $350 for my a friend's dad who is in the hospital for another diabetes related amputation.

Thanks for posting about this. I looked into it years ago, but haven't lately.

Both of my ILs have money but none for us. I should charge a "finders fee"!

ETA: It was over $1,000 total!

Maybe they will accept your credit report; your old address are usually listed there.

cool link! I found nothing for me, but gonna call my dad in the morning, he and my stepmother have two differnt amounts, one for sure for 35$ and one maybe for 1200! I like the idea of finders fee, but my dad isn't generous...so i will settle for feeling good about helping my little sisters get a better christmas even though i can't get them anything. I also found something(in the hundreds) for my moms boyfriends sons', and his ex wives, and possibly over 8000 for him! I also found somethings for some relatives of a friend of mine...seems really cool! Boy i wish i found something for dh or I...
