But where? Picnics give my kids such a cheap thrill and I want V-Day to be special. Any suggestions for an interesting indoor (or at least warm) picnic spot?

I don't know wher you are located to try and make a suggestion, but at my house tents rule! You could make a big tent with sheets and blankets and tape cut out hearts to the inside and have yummy treats and music.

I was thinking indoors as well. Do you have a lot of twinkle lights? That could make a beautiful "sky" to picnic under.

Gee, those are great ideas. I was planning to picnic somewhere away from the house. But thanks to your ideas, I may just set up the living room as a Valentines Day tent with twinkly lights and hearts and paper flowers, etc. Spread out the picnie tablecloth and we are ready to party!

Those are great ideas!! My kids love picnics too, this would really be awesome for them to help me set up after school to surprise dh when he comes home from work. Love the lights idea!

I just mentioned the tent in the living room, twinkly lights, paper hearts idea to DH and he's excited to do it with the boys. Thanks for the idea. Nikolai (27 months) will love it! We have a futon and we're going to throw down the mattress in the tent and sleep there. Something fun and free.....woohoo!
