Before I shell out for the real deal, can anyone tell me if the knock-off Crocs for 9.99 are really any different?

Mine are just as comfortable, but my feet do seem to sweat a bit in the knock-offs and not at all in the crocs. Nothing I can't handle though, and not at all noticeable when I wear them with pants and socks.

They just put out a recall on the Payless knock offs.

I have the real ones. I've tried the knock offs and I can tell a difference.

Ds has knockoffs, dh and dd have the real thing. There is a huge difference in the feeling of the material and how well they are holding up.

One of the clerks at a Payless told me it was because the buttons were coming off of the toddler sizes. She said they expected to have the replacements in most stores by about now.

I've had knock-offs from Target and Walmart. The Walmart ones hurt my feet (they rubbed in uncomfortable places), the Target ones (which I still wear constantly) are divine.

BTW: when they get grubby/smelly, you CAN put them through the washing machine (but not, of course, the dryer).

Holly

So...I'm 43 and pregnant with #3 - how'd that happen?

Airwalk crocs from Payless for Toddlers - are great! They feel soft & bouyant and my DD and her little friends love them.

Adult Target crocs were HORRIBLE. Nothing like the real thing. At first I bought the Target brand and thought they were fine. Then I tried the real thing. I gave away the Target brand and bought the real crocs for myself.

5.5 - girl

We have knock offs from Walmart, Payless, and Family Dollar. My favorite is from Family Dollar. I paid $6 for mine and $4 for my youngest. I have never tries the original so I can't say if knock offs are better.

Airwalk is in the skater shoes?!?!

By chance do they still carry the skater styles at Payless?

Dying as this was a teenage thing of mine...

We all have dollar store ones ($3) and they are great. I've been wearing mine since fall and they are my favorite things to put on my feet. I literally wear them from the minute I wake up until I go to bed (I used to have a lot of foot pain before wearing them but it has vanished). My mom has real and fake and says there's no big difference she can notice and she works 12 hour shifts in a nursing home in them. For the kids, I just took the straps and buttons off as they didn't like them anyway. I would like to get a real pair but can't justify the expense.

My oldest has a couple of the Payless pairs and loves them and my little one has a knock-off hand-me-down pair and wears them constantly - they've never had the real ones though!

I got a pair of the Croc flip-flops for Mother's Day and Oh. My. Gosh. I love, Love, LOVE them! Thanks daddy for taking the kids shopping for me!

yup they do! I was very excited for the same reason. DS has had skater shoes since he was 14m. Also it is about time for me to buy more for me. The airwalks are not as good now that they are a payless brand, but they are still a decent basic shoe with good styling for cheap, which is all you expect from payless anyway.

Something else to consider is that the real ones are made in downtown Quebec City while the knockoffs are probably made by children somewhere in Asia.

Thats a shame about the quality....

I remember babysitting ALL summer when I was 14 to get a pair. My dad thought I was CRAZY for spending $60 on shoes, but since it was my money he didn't stop me...

Needless to say 10 (yea, 10) years later I still have them, and wear them on occasion.
