Oh, how horribly crappy the end of the month was...DH got paid and we spent...
Plus it was The Great Minnesota Get Together, the State Fair and we just HAD to go and eat everything fried on a stick...

Will do much better next month!

$5 bus fare to and from work

$17 on cat litter ( they delivered it too and gave me free food sample) They said it should last me 6-7 weeks!

$4.13 on Choclate Soya milk,No Name Root Beer and Kraft Dinner. No....I didn't make the KD with the chocolate soya milk! :

That's stuff that I needed to buy, well not really the RB,but it was $.79 and I have such cravings!!!

Then I spent some money on bills!!!

$50 on Hydro

$50 on closed internet account

$20 on Visa (that is my min. payment so I don't need to pay more until 30 days, but I will pay more next week)

$3 measly dollars on a closed telephone account.....This place would NOT accept the payment on the internet bill even though it's the same company! It is now fully paid and closed for real!!

$150 on my BIG credit card!!!! That is just over 1/2 of what my monthly goal is! I'm counting that as a partial payment for September

My goals:

3. Beat June's no-spend days 19/19 days

Yahoo!!! Yahoo!!! I made it the 19/19 no spend days!!!

And even though my McDonald's and my diaper-not-buying goals were not 100% perfect, I'm happy because I made some serious progress on those vices.

It was a tough month for me, but I really feel like I made progress on my spending issues and I'm happy!!! Every month I'm getting more in control of this.

On to September....

See you guys over there! Thanks for doing this with me.

Okay, next month I'm going to keep better track of my post so I can find it and copy it...maybe on Word or something? Anyway....

Aug. 31-- (went to Target and ONLY spent budgeted $$!!! huge victory!)

I am happy with how I did this month. Very little "silly" spending vs my usual probably $50 or so of dumb stuff. Thanks for the support and place to check in, mamas! See you in Sept.

well I lost were I last posted but yesterday we found $65 refund check. I did deposit it but took out $20 to get a Starbucks, but then of course all of the kids wanted something so I ended up using the debit card for $26 and used the $20 for dinner last night. We had spent the entire day out at the park and were hot, tired, hungry and thirsty so I felt since we had found money we could splurge with it a little.

Today was payday and I spent for our Labor Day party thats tommorow. Not sure if i should count this one in Aug or for Sept since its technically Sept 1 paycheck?

Was restless this afternoon + contemplating going out for dinner (there is NO dining out budget left for the month), but instead invited some good friends to come over for dinner (using food onhand) and play - had a great time + happy about not spending. Congrats to all those who are plugging along; see you in September!

Well. I did well, considering I would ordinarily have spent 3.75-4.00 at least twice a week on a coffee. But how can I accomodate my mid-afternoon chocolate jones? I wish I could trust myself to buy bulk M&Ms and divide them out into smaller bags... Any ideas?

Kim -- fantastic month for you!!!

Curlita -- If you think up a solution to the chocolate problem, let me know. If I bought a huge bag of M&Ms I'd have a huge gluttony M&M fest in the afternoon. A monster bag would last me all of two days...if it made it that long. I can't buy Halloween candy until the afternoon of Oct 31st. I'm too weak.

Yeah, I tried this last Saturday... bought a "medium" bag with the intent of making it last three days.... no dice.

I'll let you know if the answer comes to me!
