Thanks we actually go past 125th and Lake City Way all the time. I take the back way to Childern's. We go at least once a month.

Bought some eggs, milk, bread, and other various junk for ~$17 Sat. Previous total was 137.53 + 17 = 154.53. I'm going shopping again this evening for turkey (for THanksgiving), as soon as dh gets home from work.

Think that's all I need to buy, but I have to check my fridge and cabinets.

Just went shopping today(we were desperately low) and paid cash. Without the household goodies I spent a nice $48.19 in groceries. Add to that the $11.42 from before and for this month I am at just $59.61!!!!!! YAY for me!!!! And that stuff should last me to the very end!

(oh yeah, that's for a pregnant mama, a school-age child, and a toddler. the kitty cost us $10 in cat food but I dont' think he goes through an entire bag in one month. We have wic so that's an enormous help and we don't eat organic and we eat vegetarian in this house. the girls eat meat at their daddy's house. But that total is reflective of 3/4 of the month's meals because the other 1/4 the girls eat at daddy's house while I work.)

I spent about $20 more (including some UHT milk for dd's lunch), so I am at $287. If I keep it under $300 as of 11.15.07 I'll be happy that I can keep this tally under my goal of $600. I usually spend more during the first part of the month.

Looking at my receipts it looks like $55.55 was for food products.

I know it's easier to compare if we are just talking food items, but my monthly budget includes health and beauty, cleaning, and pet food items.

I just got back and I got a huge load of dog food(20lbs dry food and 16 cans), 17lb turkey, 8lbs of ground pork sausage, celery, egg noodles, and tomatoes....for $25.00. All of the dog food was free, so the total is just for the human food.

That puts my totals at $216.53

I splurged today and spent $28.47 on a birthday dinner for myself. We could have not spent this money and survived just fine, and I really can't believe that I spent nearly $30 for one meal. However, it was very yummy, and I had a very bad day and really needed the pick-me-up. I also got $40 from relatives in birthday money (so I'm still up $10 lol). Like I need to justify my expenditure lol, but I didn't get anything else for my birthday!

Anyway, that brings my total to $208.06

Oh I should so do this. I do really well on my 2 week shopping trip but its the times that I need to run in for milk and end up spending $20 that get me.

I can normally keep it under $250 for our family of 4.

11/6 - $22.22 (stuff for a Thanksgiving dinner with fil)
11/13 - $23.38 (milk, wine, some things for our anniversary dinner)
11/14 - $77.74 (my 2 week shopping trip that included everything we needed for 2 weeks worth of meals, lunch and breakfasts. It would have been lower but we got a present for a friend's bday party while we were there.)

Total - $ 123.34

My total looks so horrible compared to all of yours. This is my first month tracking every penny spent, and we are already at $487.35. But this includes Thanksgiving dinner (my mom put in $20 to help pay for the food, but everything I've spent is included in the total), and stocking up on $80 worth of local beef, so I shouldn't have to buy any beef for awhile.

It's probably so high because I was trying to buy more organics than we can really afford. Our farmers markets are done for the winter, and almost everything organic is expensive here.

I think I am almost done shopping for the month though. There were a few little things I forgot, but today I just did our big grocery shopping trip for the rest of the month. But I have wic vouchers for milk, cheese, cereal, eggs, etc that I just got today too and haven't used yet.

So now my goal is to keep it at about $500. I do 'have' to buy some diet coke though. And sprouts and black olives & taco sauce. But I think that's it.

Previous total was 113.00

Spent $24 earlier this week for fresh fruits, veggies and bread.

Spent $151 today... more than anticipated, but we bought a turkey (for Thanksgiving), a ham (Christmas), $10 worth of those stupid breathe-right strips, because dh's snoring has gotten absurd, and we stocked up on sodas & Capri-Suns, since they were on sale. I know, I shouldn't buy them at all, but we have cut way back... Sodas were down from $3.30 a 12 pack to 2.00, so we bought 10, and Capri-Sun (the water kind) are great for quick grab and go drinks when we're out and about... they're normally like $2.60, but were on sale, plus I had a coupon, so $1.25 each. So, that's $80 for just that stuff.

I also stocked up on baking supplies - flour, sugars, vanilla, peanut butter, chocolate baking squares, oatmeal, marshmellow fluff (mmm, fudge...), etc... and other things we'd need for the holidays - bacon, potatoes, pie stuff, etc. I also got some stuff for quick meals - tortellini w/ chz, jarred alfredo sauce, jarred spaghetti sauces, good mozz chz, etc. I also bought basics - milk, produce, bread, lunch meats, deli chz, etc.

I saved $20 in coupons, which surprised me.

I'll probably need to make one more trip to the store before Thanksgiving, as I couldnt find dh's dinner rolls. He likes a specific type/style...

Current total (subtracting $10 for Breathe Right strips) = $278.
