Hi all
Pretty good day here. Took ds2 to playgroup this a.m. - that was $7 but budgetted for. I won't be able to take him at all next week as we have too many other things on, so I feel fine about that spending.

No other spending at all - which means no sweets consumed by me!!

I *really* wanted an Indian take out tonight, I could smell it cooking when I went to get ds1 from school, but held out. DH came home and expressed exactly the same wish but I took 5 mins to think about it and declared no, we would be having pasta like the meal plan said! Dull, but keeps the budget in check.

Seems like everyone is doing good at the moment - keep it up!!

OK last month kicked my ass. We went almost $400 over budget, which considering we had $900 in unplanned expenses is kinda good but it seems like we just have to start planning for those, cause it's always osmething..... I want to revise my budget this month and also hopefully some of our tax return can pay off some debt.

Anyway goals for this month
Come in under our budget of 3230
put some money against our debt
have 8 no spend days

1-Chiro $5.25, fries $7.86, groceries 93.24, mtg & taxes $462

Catching up on the last few days, things have been CRAZY!

We decided to enroll our kids in school for the first time ever. So we've had some unexpected expenses (new lunchboxes, supplies, etc). I'll also be driving them to school every day which means that I won't be able to meet my no-drive goal.

It's always something, isn't it??? I'm frustrated that I'm already over budget in one of my categories. But I'm still confident that I can keep it under control for the rest of the month.

February 1- stayed within budget: $38.35 for pizza, paid bills
February 2- stayed within budget: $110.02 household/misc., $297.39 groceries
February 3-
February 4- stayed within budget: $37.35 gas, paid kids' bowling league fees for the month
February 5-
February 6-
February 7- stayed within budget: $80.27 at Target for school stuff (household/misc)
February 8- stayed within budget: $63.88 DD's birthday party (eating out budget), : $13 chicken feed and bedding, which puts me $3 over my household/misc budget for the month.... unless I count chicken feed as a grocery expense since we get eggs in return for the feed???? I'll have to think about this one.

My goals for February:
Track Grocery Spending: $297.39/$550
Track eating out/take out/entertainment spending: $102.23/$150
Track my gasoline spending: $37.35/$180
Track household/ misc. spending: $203.29/$200
Track frivolous spending: $0/$0
True no-spend: 3/18 days
No frivolous spending: 8/29 days
No credit card use: 8/31 days
Stay within 15 miles of home: 5/22 days
No-drive: 2/12 days
Exercise: 240/1000 minutes on the treadmill

New signature, same old me: Ann- mama of 2 boys and 2 girls, partnered to a fabulous man.
I'm an unintentional weasel feeder and I suck at proofreading.

Good for you! It's hard to wait, but you're doing the right thing.

1-
2-$75 groceries; $14.90 maternity jumper
3- lunch out with hubby
4- $38 eBay (a pound of porcini mushrooms)
5-
6-$79 groceries
7-
8- Went the the Asian supermarket to pick up produce, and ended up buying a lot more. With the exception of the mineral salt candle holder ($5), all of it was stuff we needed ($50 groceries/$10 household), but ... THEN I succumbed to temptation and ordered a pair of Capris and a T-shirt for me, plus some baby clothes from Old Navy. Goodbye another $55. THEN we had take-out pizza for dinner. Oh, and nearly $8 on laundry, as I had to run the comforter through FIVE dry cycles (and still ended up bringing it home damp), and had to run another load through four, as the dryer I put it in for the first two was broken. On the plus side, ...
9- I'm carless for the next 24 hours, so there will be no spending today.

Goals:
--Groceries: $400
--Laundry: $15
--Personal spending: $50
--Eating out: No more than once per week
--Savings: $700
--No book shopping this month!

2/2: Yay, made it through the rest of trip without impulse spending! Also came home to check mail and find $100 Wal-mart gift card (work bonus), $10 cash from relative, and $40 extra check from husband working a few hours last week. Since husband is seasonally laid off this is all really needed!
2/3 - found a new way to save money today after realizing I was paying double the price for trash bags with the drawstring. I think I spent $6.50ish on a years worth of trash bags today!
2/4 :
2/5: So I spent $3.47 on 5 great pieces of clothing, but it was not in our budget, and they are out of season, so they weren't exactly needed yet, unfortunately, clothing is not in our regular budget right now. I spent part of my son's haircut money for the clothes.
2/6 : My husband forgot his lunch and had $3 to eat out, I figured he'd get some dollar menu items, but he ordered a value meal putting us $2.27 over spent
2/7 :
2/8 $109.90 spent on filing taxes, : $6.98 husband ate out again

Guide:
: No Spend
Spent Within Budget
Necessary but Unbudgeted Spending
: Impulse or Unneeded Purchase/Spending

$0 Added to Savings
