My key:

:= groceries
= gas
= no spend
= spending other than gas or groceries

3/1-: $174.55 groceries,
---- $67.53 (Amazon for ER Season 8, High School Musical 1&2)
3/2-
3/3-
3/4-
3/5-
3/6-
3/7- $40 gas, $17.21 Sister's b-day gift
3/8- $9.52 Publix. I bought some Edamame (wanted to try it for a snack), a weird protein drink (it was gross), a pack of gum, and a Peppermint patty. So the drink, the patty and the gum weren't really necessary. The edamame COULD have waited til my next trip to the store, but it's better than snacking on junk food we have.
3/9-
3/10-
3/11-
3/12-
3/13- $40 gas
----: $12.23 Publix
----- $66-new cell phone. Mine broke-needed one ASAP for work
----- $40 nails
3/14-
3/15-
3/16-
3/17- $20 CVS on Facewash,Scope,CVS brand Listerine,Mascara,deoderant.

Today was SUPPOSED to be no spend, but I ran out of deoderant and would have needed the other stuff this week anyway, so I just combined the trip. Oh and I put a there cause this stuff is necessary.

the budget:
100$/ week groceries/ transportation/ outings

(weeks start on friday)
week 1: $50 leftover from the 100$

I have pre-emptively moved $622 into savings. I didn't have anything allotted for savings this month, due to DH's business trip which we thought we'd have to pay for upfront. But, we don't, and I've figured that, with all the scrimp/save I'm doing this month, we should have about that much "left over" if I'm really careful with grocery spending (gives me more incentive).

I have also preempitvely put on my PJs and typed in a no spend day.

I may have an unexpected expense coming up this month (might not be until next month). We are taking DD to see a developmental optomitrist, and our insurance won't pay for it, so, whenever that's scheduled, we'll have that OofP expense (really can't complain too much - our insurance covers almost everything else).

3/1 $5 parking at museum, $15 laundry quarters, $13.64 groceries, $54 charity, $2.47 postage
3/2 No spend No drive
3/3 No spend No drive
3/4 No spend No Drive

3/10 No Spend , No Drive
3/11 No spend No Drive
3/12 $77.59 DH's car tuneup, $3.00 Parking, $31.06 Drinks and Snacks for DH's trip But, better than him buying at the convenience stores for the next month.
3/13 Parking $5.00, Postage $2.47
3/14 No spend No Drive
3/15 No spend No Drive - 1,000 into IRA

Well, I didn't spend too much, but I spent more than I planned to, didn't work and cancelled my tutoring for the day so I'll only be tutoring twice this week so I'll have less spending money. Happy Saint Patrick's Day

My Key:
- No spend
- Spend within budget
- Neccessary but unbudgeted
: - Unneccessary and unbudgeted

01/03 - spent $40.00 on paint for office (at 40% off and have been planning this one and only CC purchase this month for a long time) $26.00 on a really nice meal out with Dbf, came out of last week's tutoring money and gift certificate.
02/03 - snow bound
03/03 - primed my office, nearly bought putty to fill holes in walls then found out I could use toothpaste
04/03 -
05/03 - went out for dinner but dbf paid
06/03 - Bought frames for my office and dbf's b'day present but went $5 over the cash I had (all I'm supposed to spend) so I put it on my CC
07/03 - and Printed pictures for office and dbf's present, got new thigh-high nylons, all within budget and bought new shoes for work not really in budget but on sale and I kind of needed them
08/03 - : $60.00 on Dbf's birthday dinner. Spent WAY more than planned.
09/03 -
10/03 - : bought tea out at a coffee shop with a friend
11/03 -
12/03 - Celebratory alcohol for engagement and DF's b-day
13/03 - Got paid for one tutoring job but not the other $10 into savings envelope
14/03 -
15/03 - paid off half of my CC! YAY! and then I spent all my spending money (not much) going out with friends but it was all in cash and I had a great time
16/03 -
17/03 - : Happy Saint Patrick's Day $20.00

Goals For March:
*20 no spend days (Feb I had 17) 9/20
*Pay off some of CC Done
*Put $15 from each week of tutoring in saving envelope
*Plan out meals for each week to reduce grocery spending Done
*File taxes and put tax return on provincial student loan

Budget for March:
Income - around $900.00
- $560.00 to dbf for April bills
- $45.00 to savings
- $200.00 to CC (about half coming from what's still in the bank)
- around $60.00 spending money
- $60.00 to student loan
- $40.00 paint (on CC)

I'm very disappointed today. I had a No Spend going, then I took the kids to bowling and caved when they asked for french fries. So I blew a no spend on $3.00 worth of junk food.

3/1 No Spend Day
3/2 $55.00 charitable contributions; $147.81 groceries; $50.00 DS birthday gift; $64.32 lunch w/DS#1; $2.24 coffee
3/3 $118.00 bowling league fees; $26.00 kids allowances
3/4 No Spend Day
3/5 $64.00 gas; $5.06 coffee; $22.00 dh's bowling night; $26.34 milkman
3/6 $50.00 website renewal; $2.35 coffee; $2.80 pop, lottery tix (frivolous)
3/7 $96.38 chiro; $12.82 McDonalds for kids (I'm so weak ) $1.80 library fines; $40.27 dinner out with dh (giftcard was only $20 instead of $50 ); $68.89 Target (budgeted gifts/Easter); $30.00 babysitter
3/8 $2.24 coffee; $229.98 groceries/household items/clothing. (the clothing was frivolous)
3/9 $20.00 charitable contributions; $2.34 coffee; $5.00 gift for friend
3/10 No Spend Day
3/11 $16.00 copy of birth certificate; $2.02 coffee; $31.65 Target (household/groceries)
3/12 $25.00 dh bowling
3/13 $2.02 coffee; $24.58 McDonalds for kids dinner (not absolutely unnecessary, so I'm counting it as frivolous ) $41.91 milkman; $39.03 grocery store
3/14 $88.26 Chiro; $69.00 gas
3/15 No Spend Day
3/16 $20.00 charitable contributions; $227.15 groceries

Frivolous Spending $46.37/$50
Birthday for DS #1 $50/$50

1: $40 groceries/kids toys/decorating materials, $8 indoor soft play place.
2:$30 DH running shoes - his old ones fell apart on Thurs so no real choice
3: no spend day for me. Was disappointed to find DH had spent $1 at work on chocolate but this is my challenge so I'll accept my first no spend day of the month!!
4: Sent DH to get milk, bread and kid's medicine - he came back having spent $32 - grrrrr!! This makes me so mad. He had also bought several treats for himself but nothing for me, so I don't even get to benefit!!
5: $460 hypnobirthing course for DH and I. (Ask me in May whether this was money well spent) $3 on groceries - definitely unnecessary since this was sweets mainly
6: No spend for me DH spent $7 on playing football and $6 on his lunch.
7: Groceries $105 (budgetted) and gas $100 (budgetted). I had not bought any gas since mid Feb so that was pretty good. DH spent $4 on lunch.
8: $4 curtain hooks - our old ones were tab tops but the new ones need hooks, so necessary spending.
9: No spend, no drive!!
10: $7 playgroup (budgetted)
11: $1 cookies (within grocery budget but pretty unnecessary.) Will be paying the electrician later but there's nothing I can do about that.
12: $112 groceries/household (budgetted). DH said he spent $1 at work on french fries
13: No spend! DH just informed me he spent $1 at work on chocolate, but this isn't his challenge so I'm going to gloss over that.
14: Spent $30 on flowers/foliage for our yard (to entice tomorrow's potential buyer!!) plus $10 on disinfectant for the yard, dishclothes and a can of soda. All of this fits in to the rest of my household budget for this week (but my household budget week runs Weds-Weds so if we run out of anything before then, the money is gone!) Plus $3 on DS1's school activity. Then DH informs me he spent $4 on a breakfast at work!!
15: No spend!! Did a little drive to collect a freecycle thing for the new baby. DH spent $2 on a kid's activity for our two little ones this morning but that's his spending.
16: Spent $14 on natural iron supplements - necessary but unbudgetted. Also, $8 on Easter chocolate for kids and my two brothers. I will claw the $8 back from my household budget on Weds.
17: $52 cranial osteopath (budgetted.) $2 sweets (unnecessary but DH was nagging for them...) $42 postage (but this was for items sold on ebay so in a way, we didn't really spend), $5 swim for me last night. This feels like a lot of spending for one day but I could only really have avoided the sweets. :
18: I am giving myself a no spend day for today and I don't want to come back and change it!! DH has gone on a business trip and in theory, if he spends, it will be on expenses.

3/1: $11.98 photo prints of kids for my desk at work/Dinner out (counting this as our lunch for the week since it was a cheap burger joint for a friend's birthday)

3/2: : $54.09 Groceries, McDonalds for DS1 & DH, Scones and coffee for breakfast.

3/3 (But Dh bought $9.34 in groceries)

3/4

3/5 : $80 for the Domperidone (budgeted), $9 for lunch at work, $9 for McDonalds for DH and DS1 when they visited me at work, and $15 for take-n-bake pizza for dinner.

3/6

3/7 $66.66 for groceries, Dinner out (Indian, spent more than we should. I forget that it's automatically 20% spendier when we don't get take out) $10 for lunch, ordered in because I didn't have time for anything else.

3/8 : $84 on Amazon (mostly budgeted treats, playfood for DS, RAM for DH, bottles for baby) $40 for the part to fix my laptop, $120 on DS's diapers, $215 on DH and my anniversary present, and BOTH lunch and dinner out.

3/9 : $23.95 on groceries, $18 at Target (in budget!!), $28 at World Market, with an unplanned $6 on McVitties Chocolate Digestives, over which I have no self control whatever.

3/10

3/11 $27 on garden fees, plus dinner out because we didn't make it home in time after picking up DH's brain meds -- stupid DEA controlled substances act!

3/12 $7.45 for lunch. (DH went to TJs, must get $$ from him)

3/13 $10 for coworker's birthday party (DH bought groceries, $92.50)

3/14 I managed NOT to buy a treat, even though I had a great preformance review! Go ME!

3/15 Took the kids to the Kids Expo in town, spent money on admission, our one weekend lunch out, and $1 for Elliot to feed baby goats. Totally in budget, we rock.

3/16 I did buy ONE craft thing, which I swore I wasn't going to do... but it was a 99 cent embroidery hoop, and DS broke my old one so if I was going to finish the project I was working on, I had no choice. Other than that, I browsed rather than bought at the garden store, which is a victory in and of it's self.

3/17

3/18

No Spend
Spending within budget
: Drat, I Blew it

GOALS:
7/16 no spending AT ALL days (not one cent, even if it's budgeted)
Eating limited to Friday supper and one weekend lunch. (week 1: : Week 2: )
No spending on hobbies, finish the projects I have.
No more than 2x week ordering in lunch at work. (week 1: week 2: )
>$400 on Groceries during the month. ($242.62/$400)
