01: $134 groceries/household stuff - within budget but more than I meant to spend IYKWIM. However, I did get some PP pads, some labour drinks and a bit of extra meat to make PP meals for the freezer, so I got a lot for my money. DH spent $1 at work on a chocolate bar!
02: No spend!!! DH spent a tiny bit at work but this isn't his challenge....
03: DH spent $7 on playing football plus $1.5 on a drink afterwards. The weather was glorious so I took DS1 and DS2 to the park after school. I had packed snacks but DS1 accidentally dropped his and spilled them everywhere so I ended up with a $2 spend at the store for replacements.......
04: Needed butter but came out of the store with chocolate too So, that's $4 out of my grocery budget. I wanted a Coke later but I resisted so it wasn't all bad!!
05: $3 on groceries. Still within budget but wouldn't have bought this by choice, it was related to an argument with my DH about my trying to cut down on groceries and him claiming he is being left hungry??!?!
06: $4 on groceries. By some miracle, I sent DH to the store for bread, milk and cheese and he *only* came back with those items!! Progress!!! That is my household/grocery budget spent til Weds so we need to manage with what we have now. DH is aware!!
07: No spend!!

Wow, you ladies are doing really well, even over the weekend, which seems to be a weak point for me.

4/01 - DH drives to work (boo!) + grocery spending (in budget)
4/02 - grocery spending
4/03 - No-drive, No-spend!
4/04 - DH vanpools (yay!) but spends $2 on snacks for work. We also go for a very nice dinner out (not needed, but planned)
4/05 - we blew it today - ate out for breakfast, lunch AND dinner. We were lucky to save about $8 on a birthday gift. Totals to come.
4/06 - No-drive, but bought coffee
4/07 - Grocery spending. Unplanned trip to the Dr. for DS $10. It gets worse... tomorrow I go to the Dr and it will cost a lot more and may or may not get reimbursed. DH picks up coffee to ease my pain, but at least we get 1 drink free.

Groceries to date: $91.76

Today is just made of fail on the frugality side... no food this morning, so I was to order take out for lunch. Got a plugged duct, so DH had to bring the baby in to work so I could nurse at lunch time, so take out for me became take out for the whole family. My computer is fixed, so I've got to go pick it up and pay for that. Plus, DH has been having a terrible day and is --><-- this close to ordering out for dinner. Hopefully, we can nip that in the bud.

but yeah. NOT a no-spend day.

Spending all of my money and time on this wild, wild life.

Go Jenny Go!!! You ARE doing great so far

Kim -- Could you wait on the purse? Will it still be available on May 1st? If you could just hold off on buying it until the April challenge is over...maybe you'll discover that you could get by without it?

Welcome back Ashley!

Cleaned out my purse and decided it will work fine for awhile longer; the initial "must have" desire of yesterday has waned, so very glad I did not purchase on impulse. Am going to take the $ I would have spent, and transfer into our EF in a moment. Only $ spent today was to pay mortgages on 2 properties.

Ok Mamas need some assistance I am looking for a new lens for my new camera, I bought the camera without a lens.. I found a lens for a really good price, and am very tempted. However my birthday is in May, so I was originally planning to wait until then, until I saw this one.. (it is a little over $110 off the asking price of a new lens!) What do you think? I am thinking about listing some things fs, and scrounging for $$ in the couch etc. (yes I am a dork!!)

Well, the heating repair saga continues. DH replaced 2 valves yesterday and tried to refill the water in the system only to find that the water pipes are clogged and need to be replaced. So, now we are stuck and need to call in a plumber.

And dd and I are headed to the dentist. Grrrr...I am leaking money this month. :

April 1 -- 72.52 groceries
April 2 -- no spend
April 3 -- no spend
April 4 -- 55.68 groceries

April 6 -- 127.50 heating system repair
April 7 -- 69.39 heating system repair
April 8 -- 12.00 dentist co-pay, 32.36 groceries, dinner out 31.74
