I just called and did all of this in the past hour:

Cancelled our Real Networks Super Pass (to view live feeds of different shows online) - $14/month

Cancelled Stamps.com membership - $14/month

Cancelled landline phone - $32/month

Downgraded our internet/cable TV - $24/month

Cancelled Netflix - $14/month

For a savings of: $98/month!!

Now I may need to slightly upgrade my cell phone to allow for more minutes, but that won't be but $5 a month at most!

Holy Moly!

You did all that in ONE hour?!?

Good Lord! Each company I talk to is a minimum of 45 minutes...

Anyway, good for you saving all that money!

MonkeyPrincess - Yes, two of them tried to keep me on the phone with this, "But stay with us and we'll cut your bill by 50%" and the cable/internet co tried to get me to sign up for a phone line through them for "only" $4 more per month.

Surprisingly I was only on hold with one for about 7 minutes before I got a live person.

I am not telling DH about the internet one. I'm going to see if he notices a difference in speed first.

WTG!

You inspired me. I just called to downgrade our cable back to basic, saving $45/mo., and put our Netflix account on hold for three months, saving us $16.99/mo.

About $62 a month back in my pocket. And no big loss, since we hardly watch TV and the movies have been sitting around for weeks lately, since it's summer and we've been busy outside more.

I've got a laundry list of "ways to save money", many the same as what you did. I've been putting it off thinking it would take so long, but now I'm inspired! Hopefully, we'll get some savings from those things to pay off some debt.

Awesome job! I'd so look into what I could cancel, but I'm moving in 2 1/2 weeks, so it would be pointless right now, lol!

But good for you!

Try this instead of stamps.com:
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now

Its basically what you get when you click to pay for postage through Ebay, but without the address already filled out. You don't get a discount on the postage itself, but delivery confirmation is free with Priority Mail or Express Mail and 18 cents for First Class, Media Mail, etc.

Oh, and the service itself is free. You just pay for postage. And you pay for it the same way you pay for everything else with Paypal (your balance, bank account, or credit/debit card).

Congratulation, that is great!

I've tried to do this before but our cable/internet and phone are all through one place and if I make any changes to our service (tried dropping down cable/internet speed/home phone etc. and it ends would end up costing us more because we'd lose our "bundle discount"
