I got the chest freezer Ive been saving for today!! Its being delievered on Tuesday, Im so happy. Now I can stock up on meat when its on sale and freeze meals without overcrowding the tiny one on top of the fridge.. We splurged a little on lunch though, went out to eat. Since this is the first time this month its ok. We have to go to the store but I don't think Im going to be spending anything, just WIC stuff.. Well, I did spend a bit on frivolities. Damn that Target. I went in for dishsoap and a nursing/maternity tank top, but came out with about twenty dollars of more stuff. It was mostly clearance food and a pair of shoes for my growing feets, but still. On the plus side, I got a new crib mattress at Goodwill for only ten dollars. and I've started to fill up the baby's piggy bank for when it comes.

Admittedly, I've fallen off the frugality wagon over the last few days. A few meals out, a few toys for the kids, and.... YIKES ! So, back on board. DH is out of town for the next 3 weeks, so that will actually make spending less easier. I did a $200 grocery run yesterday and will hopefully not have to buy more than milk until August now.

NEW GOAL ~ 8 no spend days until DH gets home on August 1

JULY GOALS

NO book buying 11/31 (i failed myself but $20 for science books for the kids) no more this month no more books but noted below i sold some books at bookmans so this balanced out, yes i am justifiying my failure to say no to the kids.

NO clothes buying 11/31 i MUST wait til august to buy a new wallet. no kids or adult clothes have been purchased outside of of a 2packs of $1.24 3pack socks for ds7

NO drive days 1/7 this has changed to include taking the bus for 'field trips' we took the bus downtown to the science center

NO dryer useage days 4/10 this is going to be a killer. i will have to plan the laundry: i am proud of myself on this so far

updated 7/13/08

i feel like im doing fairly well. to off set the book purchase i did sell some books at the resale shop. we are planning another bus trip this week. i think my no drive days was a bit much this month but im impressed with the bus so that may change for the following months.
