We are on a 45 day journey of being extremely frugal. We have decided to only spend on things we have already committed to. We have a few over 15 days left in the challenge. (http://www.45dayfinancialfast.blogspot.com/)

Sept 1 - Labor Day - We stayed in and did things around the house, it was really relaxing.

Sept 2 - Back to work, gave my notice that I was quitting :

Sept 3 - : $5.25 on "extra" food for my lunch

Sept 4 - Only groceries.

Sept 5 -

Sept 6 - : $4.19 Trade Joe's snack

Sept 7 - Yay for Sundays!

Sept 8 -

Sept 9 - DH asked me how we were doing with the budget, I love these days!

Sept 10 - Pre-emptive. We will all be home tonite so I think this should be a no spend.

Sept 11 - Yay! Plus DH worked some overtime and we received a refund so we had a small windfall.

**Today (12th) may not be a no spend. We need a few things for our trip. I have a gift card but I don't think it will cover everything but I am going to try!***

Sept 13 - Sept 26 - VACATION - I'm back ladies! We had a great vacation and a wonderful time together.

Sept 27 I am donating a bunch of stuff today which should keep me from shopping/spending.

Sept 28 : $7.27 snacks, $14 lunch
*****

Total No Spend 10/25
: Total Overspend $30.71

9/15 $192 groceries
9/16 $103.23 groceries
9/17 $15 museum, parking, water
9/18 $70 gas, $100 cash for 6 days of traveling (i'm just going to lump this all together even though the actual spending of it was spread out)
9/19 -
9/20 -
9/21 -
9/22 -
9/23 $10.45 lunch, $74 gas
9/24 $16 lunch, $90 groceries
9/25 -
9/26 $25 lunch, $123 supplements
9/27 $20 lunch
9/28 $38 on amusement park and icecream, $80 gas
9/29 $99 groceries $120 target will be returning half of it. the day after we make our buget too!

well i have 5 no spend days. today i'm going grocery shopping, but hopefully tomorrow can be no spend to finish off the month.

dh and i sat down and really looked at where our money is going. boy was that a shocker! $700 on groceries and how do i spend $400 on cleaners/clothes/toys??? we also sketched out a drastically reduced budget that we want to stick to for 6 months to pay off a credit card debt. at that point, we will probably go to a less strict budget but we'll still have more money to send to the other and larger debt (from selling our mobile home for less than we'd put into it).

i hope writing down every expense will help me stick to this budget. it's going to be hard. especially at first. it looks like this:
donation $10
savings $100
rent $1300
groceries $400
utilities $300
gas $230
entertainment $50
tv $30
car insurance/dmv $110
life insurance $9
household/clothing $100
misc. $100
debt payment $200
cc $200
total $3139

this is $700 less then we've been spending which we plan to apply to the cc debt.

I am so glad it is the end of the month, I have been doing so bad. DH has been in Wales, UK so we ate out a few times, went to Goodwill, Target, etc.
But, I am going to get back on track, I was doing pretty good!
I lost track and haven't posted my totals in 2 weeks, but I will say I spent 30% less this month than last.:

Pru, how in the heck do you spend $47 on panties??

(Please smack me if that is a rude question and not something you want to discuss.)

I did BADLY today. Big post office bill, big MMS bill, and unnecessary GW trip. Bah. Trying to end the month on a no-spend tomorrow!
