Well, I bought something I hadn't intended on buying today, but I think I'll give myself a break about it. I bought a pg test - and then a little onesie. I think I'm going to have to revamp my entire budget.

Oh! Congrats!!! :

I'm not doing well today. So far I spent $11.63 at the grocery store for a last minute family get together I got sucked into tonight . I spent $4.40 at Dunkin Donuts because while at the grocery store I forgot a snack for the kids (because our entire morning was screwed up and we haven't been home) and an iced coffee for me (stressed) :.

Now I'm going to buy school books, and unless something changes in the next hour I'm looking at $650 there

My key :
- unexpected but unavoidable spending
: - lack of proper planning spending
- spending that has to do with my sister or college or both

1. Please introduce yourself and tell us why you have decided to spend nothing (or spend significantly less) for the Month of September.

Getting a "Do Not Honor" message when trying to make a very small purchase today, I decided I REALLY need to start budgeting and being mindful.

2. No spending is hard work. You need a plan. Please tell us your game plan -- how do you plan to approach no spending for a month?

Stick to my budget, entirely! If it's not in the budget, it doesn't get spent.

3. Be specific! What are your goals? How many no spend days is right for you? Do you have a savings goal? Debt repayment goal?

Hmm...let's shoot for 21/30 days.

Gas, groceries, and pet supplies do not count as spending. I make tips at my job occasionally, so any cash tips I get don't count as spending if I want to get Starbucks or another treat, although if I get more than $20 cash at anytime, it's going into the bank.

Welcome! You are off to a great start

If your goal is 21 no-spend days, usually we write that as 0/21 then each day hopefully that number on the left goes up until you reach 21/21...then you have reached your goal.

You can do it!!!

Our little guy turned 2 today; nothing like cake for breakfast, ummm...and actually for dessert after lunch too. Only $ spent today was at the local shoe store b/c the kids needed something besides their Crocs and snow boots to take us through winter - luckily DD's Merrell's were 50% off with our kids' club participation. We are throwing DS' b-day bash at a local apple orchard this weekend; no charge for hosting and they donate a separate building - only cost there will be apples picked by kiddo guests (and food/cake/beverages we bring along). Do not anticipate a problem staying within a reasonable budget.

* Stay within grocery/eating out budget: $224.21/$500
* ORGANIZE/declutter (lack of organization = spending): 5/25
* Exercise (feeling good = decreased emotional spending): 4/25

Aw - congratulations!!!!

Thanks for all the good wishes ladies. I appreciate them. This pg is a complete surprise. We took the munchkins out and let them buy something for the little one, but we stuck to one small $9 item, and used cash that I had gotten out on payday for incidentals. We're still looking good as far as sticking to the budget!

: Hi, my name is AutumnBreeze, (Autumn, AB, whatever) we are not spending because my husband is on disability, and we are not getting paid! Hopefully we'll be getting our 2/3 salary payments by the end of this month.

Our plan is to pay our bills, and buy food.

Goals, just not to be overdrawn! We had to live on credit cards 2 years ago, and we're almost caught up there (1 down 2 to go). I make meal plans, and shop accordingly. Our son attends public school and qualifies for reduced lunches, so if need be, we will be sending the money for him to buy. But for now, packed lunch is working fine.

Our van is about to die, so we aren't going anywhere but the grocery store and maybe school in the mornings. we are looking at buying a car from a friend (less than 1000) so we aren't spending on gas like before.

when I go buy the kids fall/winter clothes, as usual they will be 90% consignment and 10% on sale items.

We are not buying birthday/christmas gifts for them, but allowing them to go shopping with the money they get from family.
